Block branch from accidentally mutatingOpen

Recently we started working with the different branches for development, release and main. It is desirable that in principle (with the exception of hot fixes) all developments are carried out in the development branch.Currently it is not possible to protect a branch against "accidental" mutating. Naturally, the developer should pay attention to which branch he makes adjustments in, but a mistake is easily made. And this means rolling back that branch and re-entering the work or a special merge action.Of course we can introduce the "pastry scheme" for those who accidentally do this. But it would be more useful if we could secure the branch, for example by showing a notification when the branch is opened.Is it possible to make such a adjustable warning for branches?

Default closed menu in Windows GUI

In our application we use a list-bar menu.To allow users to use the maximum space on their screen we want the menu to be (auto-)closed by default.The user can do this himself by clicking on "Auto hide". The menu will then be automatically hidden/shown.We have found that this can be set in IAM by making an entry in the user preferences at [Global] and leaving the checkbox for menu empty. The disadvantage is that this must be set for each user (possibly with a script). Not exactly an elegant solution.Is it possible to set this at application level in IAM?

Highest or lowest permissions valid

Unfortunately, we couldn't find the answer to the question below in the documentation/community, so we're asking it here.When migrating an existing application to the SF environment, all roles, etc. are also migrated.It turns out that sometimes different roles set permissions on the same objects (tables/fields).Unfortunately, it appears that some (also migrated) user groups contain multiple of these roles, leading to "rights conflicts".Example:role seller has read-only rights to a field in table Arole controller has write permissions on that field in table AUser group "Special employees" contains both rolesIs our conclusion correct that this means that for users with the user group "Special employees" they can only read the field in table A?Are the lowest rights assumed by default?Is this a setting that can be set at the application level?Can we provide insight into these types of "conflicting rights" somewhere? FYI: We use the Windows GUI

Make IAM application to be started adjustable via ini-fileOpen

Various 'administrations' are used for our new application (rebuilding a complete ERP system). All data is stored in 1 database. An IAM application is created for each 'administration'. To prevent user (input) errors, we want to be able to start each IAM application separately, whereby the other IAM applications are not visible. This problem can be solved by extending the existing INI file for controlling the IAM applications.We would like an extra parameter to indicate which application (alias) should be started with that specific INI file (running the Windows GUI). Only that application then has to be started and the user must therefore not see the other applications "at the bottom left of the screen".Something like the 'Model' parameter in the INI file for the SF. It is then always completely clear to a user in which application (and therefore which administration) they are working.

Error message popup too small in DevExpress

The error pop up in devexpress is too small. When you get an error, for example when your query is invalid while managing queries, a pop up will appear with the error message. The text will, in this case, first show the query and always put the actual error information at the end of the text, however the query text is often too long to fit on the screen.The first image shows an example where the error information is only just visible and the second image shows an example of a longer query where the error information is not visible. It would be useful if there was a way to show the entire message, for example: Being able to drag to make the pupup bigger or being able to click on "more" which automaticly makes the popup larger. A quick easy fix could be to at least show the error information first in the message and then the entire query.Is there a way we can make the entire error message visible? Set actual tray name as parameter using Process flow connector Print file (PDF)Open

With version 2023.2, the process action Print file (PDF) has been expanded with a large number of parameters. One of these parameters is the printer tray.We want to use this new functionality to send output to different printers, including different trays.With our current production system we still use the reporting service. In addition to the desired printer, we can also specify the desired printer tray (name!).We want to convert our current production system to use Print file (PDF) and use this functionality in a new application that we are currently building. It would therefore be very desirable if we could provide the name of the printer tray, just as it is now possible with the reporting service.

Control the printer tray to be used with the Print File process action

With version 2023.2, the process action Print PDF has been expanded with a large number of parameters.According to the description, one of these parameters is the printer tray. We would like to use the option to generate reports via Indicium in a process flow, and use this new option (controlling the printer tray). Our production system currently still works with the reporting service.It is not clear from the documentation how exactly the control of the printer tray works. We assumed that this would be functionally the same as with the reporting service, so that in a print job we could also specify the desired tray in addition to the printer (among other things because of the description "Choose which input bin (tray) should be used").Upon inquiry, this appears not to be the case, so we cannot indicate which tray should be used for print orders.This makes switching the reporting service to the new output generation system difficult. Make role_id field of role longerOpen

Currently, the "code" of a role (role_id) can contain a maximum of 100 characters.To clearly define roles, we would like to have more space available, so that we do not have to work with all kinds of obscure abbreviations to be able to make sufficient distinction within those 100 characters.The description of a role is longer (1000 characters), but in many places in the SF and IAM the role_id is shown and not the description.Can the length of the role_id field be increased, for example to 250 characters?

Number of lines for 'suggestion contains'

The 'suggestion contains' setting ensures that users can quickly find and choose a value for an input field. Currently only 8 lines are shown in the suggested values (using Windows GUI). Can we set this number (lines) somewhere?

To test certain functionality we want to use a task with the logic type 'GUI code'. White line showing up above custom keyboard

Best Community,We use a custom keyboard (Enterprise Keyboard) on our Zebra ET40 tablets. When using the Enterprise Keyboard in our Thinkwise program (Universal GUI), it shows a thick white line above the keyboard (see App_Screenshot). When looking at the browser version of the program, it seems like the white line is created because of the saved passwords (see Website_Screenshot). However we also get this white line when we are not logging in. We tried using the keyboard on different apps like Google and the line did not show up there (see Google_screenshot). Not all elements of a radio button are shown in Universal GUI

We have a problem using radio buttons. We want to show it on a FORM in Universal GUI, but only the first 2 options are shown.Situation:- domain created with 6 elements (data type INT)- table field added with this domain- created screen with FORM element on itWhen displayed in the Windows GUI, all 6 elements are displayed.When displayed in the Universal GUI, only the first 2 elements are shown. When "playing" with the size of the screen (responsive) in the browser, the position of the field does shift and the distance between the 2 radio button options, but consistently only the first 2 elements are shown.Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this so we can fix it?

Shortcuts not possible on the Universal detail screen?

We want to use shortcuts to start tasks in Universal.If we link shortcuts to certain tasks, they are displayed correctly and function correctly in the Windows GUI.This applies to both a main screen and a detail screen that is on a TAB.However, in the Universal GUI we see the shortcuts of tasks on the main screen (and they function as expected), but the shortcuts are not shown for the tasks on the detail screen. They don't work there either.Is this something we haven't set up correctly, or is this not supported in Universal yet? Make the order of fields in view and template independentClosed

When creating a view and the template to populate the view, it is necessary to keep the same field order. Ability to prevent screen closing or add functionality to close event

We are looking for a way to ensure that certain functionality is always executed after a user has closed a certain screen (an opened document) in a flow in the Universal GUI. We have created a task that closes the screen and executes the functionality. But if the user closes the screen (document) itself, this functionality is not performed.It is essential that this functionality is always executed (this sets triggers for synchronization with another application).Is there a way to somehow enforce this? Combobox does not function as expected in Universal GUI

When using a combobox (a lookup of another table) we run into some strange things when using the Universal GUI.We have linked a field to a table via a look up.When opening the relevant task screen, the value is shown correctly.When we open the look up the value is not selected in the list of (look up-)values. If we select a value, put the focus on another field and then open the relevant lookup again, the value is selected.In addition, the selected value is not displayed when the lookup is opened. Depending on the position in the list, the user has to scroll before the value appears.Both points work normally (as expected in the Windows GUI).Are these bugs in the Universal GUI, is this not supported yet in Universal GUI or do we have to set up something extra to use the Universal GUI for the use of combo boxes?

Show date-time with mask or something like that

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a date-time mask in SF?We have set the default date-time representation in our application using the extended property CustomDateTimeMask.For 1 specific screen we only want to display the month and day + time, so e.g. 22-12 13:24 instead of 22-12-2022 13:24.Is this possible with the help of a mask or something like that, or do we have to convert to a text field (ouch)

Make font size adjustable in Universal GUIOn the backlog

With release 2021.2.16 the compact and comfortable mode have been introduced to the Universal GUI. The point size of the fonts has been reduced from 16px to 14px.On mobile devices, this point size is too small for many users. At the moment (as far as we know) it is not possible to set the font size from SF.Can this font size therefore be made adjustable for the Universal GUI?From a user's point of view, it is desirable to use a different font size for mobile devices than, for example, when using a desktop.

Error message when using subreports with preview: 'Could not find file 'XXXXX\Cache\Images\YYY\Raport\reportfilename.repx'

For reports we use the DevExpress report editor provided by Thinkwise.The report files are uploaded in the SF.As a result, TW automatically creates files in the report cache folder with the name "title of report"_"reportfilename".repx.In our application we make use of both direct printing and the possibility for users to view a report in preview mode.Reports made from 1 part work fine in both modes. But the preview mode does not work for reports that consist of a main report and 1 or more subreports.When linking in the DevExpress report designer to the subreports, the "reportfilename" is used. However, this file name cannot be found in the cache folder, causing the error message 'Could not find file 'XXXXX\Cache\Images\YYY\Raport\reportfilename.repx'.A work-around is to restore the files from the cache folder and use them in the report editor (and link to them). But this is very cumbersome and error-prone, so undesirable.We use the reports using the Windows GUI.Is there any other way w

Auto refresh causes "jump" active record in Universal GUI

In a screen (variant) where auto refresh is set, the selected line always jumps between the actively selected and the previously selected record.If you do not touch the mouse/keyboard you will see the selected record number change between those 2 numbers.The view that is displayed with the respective screen has a unique PK.The WIndows GUI works properly.We work with Universal GUI 2021.3.14 b1.1, Platform version 2021.3,Any idea what could be causing this problem?NB. @Robbert van Tongeren reported this problem internally to Thinkwise some time ago.

Convenient way to login on mobile device

We are busy developing a Thinkwise application in Universal GUI. The users are Windows Users, which are created in Active Directory. The password policy makes passwords strong, meaning that users must use letters, numbers, and special characters.Entering the username and strong password on a mobile device is difficult because of the emulated keyboard.Does anyone have experience with a way in which users can (more) easily log in to the Universal interface on a mobile device?We are already testing with barcodes and QR codes, and for the username this could possibly be a workable solution. But having passwords printed in code form available is undesirable from a security point of view.We'd love to hear your experiences and tips!

Easier selection from pop-up list in Universal GUIOpen

On mobile devices it is hard for a user to make choices from a combo list. Because the screen is small, it is difficult to open the list (clicking on the triangle) or the icon next to it.Some lists do not require the user to type in part or all of a potential choice. The list of possible choices is limited, so picking from a list (box0 works well.The easiest for the user would be if the full text (the orange part of the image) is clickable, which will open a popup.The triangle should then be suppressed.

Support suppress grid header in Universal GUIOpen

According to the description in https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/sf/screen_types.html#designing-a-screen-type the grid header can be suppressed with the property "Show grid header".This is highly desirable in order to maximize the number of records displayed on a mobile device. Often the data speaks for itself and grid headers are superfluous.At the moment this feature is not supported in Universal GUI.We would like this feature to be supported in Universal GUI.
