How to show trace fields in separate tab in universal gui

Hi, how can we show our trace fields in a separate tab in the universal gui. Just like how it happens in the windows gui?

multiple edit modi in one screen

I have the following 2 tables in one screen: ‘Staffels’ is a child of ‘staffel afspraken’. Depending on the input in the main table, a variant of the child table is used: for several configurations in the main table I need to fill oput different columns in the child table. We do this by using different variants of the child table to display different columns. In this case it is unwanted to have both tables in edit mode: how can I prevent this from happening?

Web Connector how to deal with form-data response.

I have an API that I call to extract certain pages from a PDF. The request seems to be ok. However I get a response in form-data back and I'm stock on how to process. < HTTP/1.1 200 OK< Date: Tue, 01 Oct 2024 14:36:40 GMT< Content-Type: application/pdf< Content-Disposition: form-data; name="attachment"; filename="QUERO%20QUERO%201S24_rearranged.pdf"< Content-Length: 518605Now I fetch it with @document_data, but it needs treatment to be correct. The previewer cannot read it because probably the content-disposition header should be stripped?

Start flow with change filters and save filters / prefilters

I am trying to do something like this; According to the documentation change filters should not start an Universal flow, but it should start a system flow, and how else then a user changing the filters could a flow be started? So, what I try to do is not to use the step to change the filters but to get the result of the user doing so, but nothing happens.Am I missing something or is this just not possible?What I want is to know the selection so that I can apply the same selection to a report on the page, while the page is based on another Query.I’m also wondering if the report would be filtered when based on the same subject / table as the user is viewing?Being able to run a task on all the rows within the current selection ( not those selected by the user could also help ), as I manage to only output the report based on the users selection in the grid, but I would also like to create and option comparable to the export option; Daan

IAM - OpenID Providers roles claim is sometimes missing.

I have set up an OpenID provider in IAM, allowing users to log in to the application via SSO. Now, I want to link user groups to this role using the 'roles' claim.I am facing an issue, and I think it might be related to the number of roles assigned to a user, as in some cases, there are quite a lot of them, but it could also be something else. For some users, I see a long list of roles where I could filter by ID to find the correct role, but for other users, I don’t receive any role claim at all, even though these are configured in their Azure AD. Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this?

USer preference - grouping grid

I have a grid with the possibility to add grouping by dragging and dropping.  In the IAM I configured the user preference to: COMPLETE If I add the header email to the grouping, it groups correctly. But as soon as i go to the details and go back the grouping disapears, whcih leads to a bad user experience.  I'd expect this to be saved ias a user prefrence.  Is this a bug? Or a request for improvement?

performance tree universal GUI

For one of our customers we are trying to populate a tree view with 29800 nodes.  It feels sluggish. The base query takes 1 second.  How can we investigate further where delays are coming from?

Take a picture with Universal GUI

What are the options to directly access the camera in the Universal GUI on Windows to take photos? For example, we have Micorosft Surfaces where we want to directly add a photo to a table (e.g., using the multiple upload HTML page that I have working now), but also with a normal form, but with the Image Upload control, I can only choose files instead of taking a photo. On iOS, I do get that option.

Display SVG Icons in Treeview

We ran into the problem that SVGs were not displayed in tree views. (Universal GUI 2024.2.14)After adding this to custom.css, the svg icons became visible:svg { width: 24px; height: 24px; }Side effect of this, is that charts are no longer displayed. I don’t believe this is solved as was mentioned in this post:What can we do now?

U-GUI not showing IAM application.

We have various instances of projects in test. Normally I get the IAM and the project in the Universal GUI. Now I have one that only shows the project, not the IAM. In the config.json there is no pre-defined project. All seems the same. What can be the reason for this difference? So, no pre-defined project.  I am also root admin. …

Start process flow with an API trigger call

Hello! We want to start a process flow (see image below - process flow A) with an API trigger.Process flow A For triggering it, we used another process flow with a web connection and a simple table task to start the process (see image below - process flow B). Process flow B We have managed to make it work in Postman, giving us an OK 200 status. However, in the universal gui, the flow exits with a -1 error code (see image below for the live error log). Both authentication methods are exactly the same between our web connection and Postman.  Any ideas about what we might be missing?

Indicium both as IIS- and service process?

We are deploying a TW application in the Windows GUI at several of our customers.Indicium is handling some background tasks, amongst other printing.These tasks involve frequent polling of the SQL database.Default, we deploy Indicium as a service for the background tasks because this is more simple and has less impact than a IIS installation with Indicium.However, some of our customers also want to use the TW API for accessing the application database. So at these customers, we need to install and configure IIS for Indicium.Should and can we, in those cases, then uninstall Indicium as a service, to avoid double handling of the background tasks? Or does the IIS Indicium process recognize that some roles (background tasks) beside API are handled by a second Indicium instance (the service instance)?At least, I want to prevent double polling of the SQL database.

Default filters on detail

We have a workflow to set default filters when someone opens a screen;Step 1) Open document … triggers …Step 2) Decision; Filter valuesStep 3) Set the filters.This did not work for a while, but works again.I now tried to create the same at the moment that the user opens a subject which is a detail, but the workflow doesn’t start.Does anyone know how I can start the workflow at this point and set the filters?Thank you,Daan​​​​​​​

I want the message to abort so i added the '1’When using '0’ it warns and everything is ok See also live error log Is this a bug?

Execute table task with a hyperlink

Is it now already possible to execute a table task or process flow with parameters, with a hyperlink in a html field? The goal is to open another document within the same browser tab, or as floating document.Can the syntax as described in “Improved HTML control with a deep link” (release notes 2024.2.14) be used?

Is this procedure for updating the production database correct?

To make a change to the software at the client's site, I use the procedure below.I wonder if that one is correct or if it should actually be different/better:First, I create a development branch from the production branch.Then I make the changes in the development branch.After customer approval, I start the creation of the development branch. I fire the generated source code to the customer's production database.Then I merge the development branch back into the production branch and generate a sync script to update the iam database.This works, but is that the procedure to follow?I await responses with interest.

Database connection timeout

It happens that the http request already timed out long ago, or that a browser has been closed, but that the query still runs at SQL Server (Azure database instance).Is there a way to set a database timeout in the Thinkwise database connection settings?Or should I post this as an idea?We had some problems during our last update. One of the possible explanations is that something started a query while there were no indexes. Having a reasonable short timeout would protect against this kind of scenarios. Ideally I would like to set the timeout only for connections from Indicium initiated by the user interface, as updates and DBA work can require longer queries. It would be even better if it would be possible to have different settings per view / workflow step, as queries for normal UI screens should never exceed 1 second, while some graphics / download / upload / update functionalities might require more.

Web connector vs HTTP connector

I changed an existing HTTP connector to a web connector so we can change API key in IAM. Unfortunately there seems to be a difference in how the request body is forward. I have a generated request body that worked in the HTTP connector, type application/json In the web connector I've translated this in body type JSON and one input parameter that gets the generated body json. The API provider gives back a JSON parsing error on the web connector.

Prevent COUNT(*) calls from happening to increase performance?

Trying to improve performance with thew Universal GUI where possible, I have encountered the COUNT(*) being  a big issue in certain screens as well. Especially when people are filtering using the combined filter.The way this filter works is already not very performance positive, but having the same call being done again to count the rows, makes the screen feel very sluggish. Certain searches take around 2.5-3.5 (maybe even more) seconds and that gets doubled by the extra call.I think this call is intended for the paging mechanic (display # max records over all pages) or in combination with a “max. no. of records.” to (not) show the message exceeding result shows message.Is there already a way to prevent this call from being made for specific views/tables?In my example this would already gain a 2.5-3.5 seconds waiting for a result to show.

Own prefilters defined in Windows GUI are not visible & working in Universal GUI

We created a pre-filter in windows GUI & set this to active by default (was not working, but now fixed in 2024.2).As we want to migrate to universal GUI, these pre-filters should also be available there, but those are not. It is also not possible in de universal GUI to set a pre-filter active by default

control date output from date picker control

I have a Crystal Report that expects 2 dates as parameters.When I run a trace on the db using an extended event I can see what query the Crystal Repost is executing:exec "VMS"."dbo"."reporting_price_and_purchasing_headerinfo_v2";1 9, 1, N'1-1-2020', N'29-8-2024'The problem seems to be in the formatting of the date which is dd-mm-yyyy while the SP expects a DATE which is yyyy-mm-ddWhen I run the CR report manually and enter 2020-01-01 and 2024-08-28 as dates the trace shows:EXEC "VMS"."dbo"."reporting_price_and_purchasing_headerinfo_v2";1 9, 1, N'2020-01-01', N'2024-08-29'And the report shows the correct data.But how can I force the date picker in my Thinkwise application to output the selected date as yyyy-mm-dd rather than the more human readable (on this side of the big Atlantic puddle) dd-mm-yyyy?This question is related to my previous topic but the focus shifted from debugging to fixing a specific issue.

how to debug issue with Crystal Reports report?

In my TW application I use several Crystal Reports reports.The customer sent me a new version of the report, other than the rpt file and 2 additional parameters for the stored procedure used by the report no big changes.I've replaced the original report with the new report and added the 2 new parameters.When I try to open the report from the application I keep getting: Other reports work correctly, just this one report is being naughty :) :(

Configure order of Task and Task execution confirmation options

As it turns out the behaviour of the Windows GUI and the Universal GUI differ when it comes to the order of the buttons on a Task and the Confirmation to execute a taskWindows GUI:Universal GUI Can I influence it somewhere to have the default order again as the Windows GUI? We also have “messages” which we can change the order from, but that is useless if they will align with one GUI, but not with the other.
