Universal - Auto edit in grid and multi row select

Hi,In Universal I would like to have Auto-edit in grid on, and have multi-select - so a user can execute the tasks. However, it appears it's on or the other. Is this correct?Thanks, Blommetje

Hit escape to close popup in UniversalWorking on it!

Hi All, In Universal gui I find myself constantly and more and more violently hitting the ESCAPE key on my keyboard trying to close popups. I click on a lookup to check if I select the correct client, or whatever, and want to close it. BAM! But nothing happens. Idea; Use Escape keyboard button to close a lookup/popup in Universal gui (next to Cancel button) Alexander (Note, I assume this is on the backlog anyway, given the win gui specs.. So it’s between an idea and the question… ‘when we will get this?’ )

Documentation on IAM MaintenanceCompleted

Hi,Is there a guide for consultants for IAM maintenance? Cleaning up sessions, etc, anything that can be done to make sure IAM is set-up correct, caches removed, cleaned, and no logs are cluttering this world etc, etc. Development delivers a new version, but that does not mean that old stuff is cleaned automatically.. and consultants don't know what can and can't be done. A simple sheet or guide would be great! Blommetje

make the merge popup largerNext release

When merging, the fields are fairly small. this way I always need to click to click the lookup and select correct branch. Make this wider, so i can read the whole field. Also, perhaps when a branch is selected, auto fill the branch current project… with the latest version of the branch. Rarely one merges an older version?

Allow wildcards in the PF step Change filter

Hi, I have a task for searching something.Start Task from menu. Enter value (shipment number), open document - start empty, change filters.When I enter the exact value it works ok. Open the table and show the row. For example: Shipment number: 22fe0530This will output this query in the debugger: as t1where (t1.[shipment_number] = N'22fe0530')However, I want people to be able to use the filter similar to ‘ctrl - G Filter’ .When I set ‘Allow Wildcards’ in my PF step ‘Change Filters’, it still searches for the exact entered value, giving this; as t1where (t1.[shipment_number] = N'22FE*')When filtering in the ‘ctrl-G filter’ it outputs; and (t1.[shipment_number] like N'%22fe%')Which will result in several rows that match. The documentation states that the COL value must be EQUAL, so the = makes sense. But then.. What to do with the wildcard?In short, can it be done to output all rows with Shipment_number like 22fe% - when entering a value in a task and then open the document, and show t

Check if domain existsOn the backlog

Hi, Sometimes we create a domain manually. For a quick fix.However, the 020_upgrade script does not check if the domain already exists. So, SF outputs something like: /* Create domain T_bl_claus2 */create type T_bl_claus2 from nvarchar(250) grant references on type::T_bl_claus2 to public goCan this be wrapped with an 'IF NOT EXISTS’’?Does not happen often, but sometimes the deployment breaks on it, which is some work to fix.I think something similar happened when a deployment failed. Some constraints were already dropped. However, the script stopped because it couldn't find a constraint to drop. I manually created the constraint, and the script ran fine. A check for an IF EXISTS would be nice. ThanksBlommetje

Copy with edit in grid crashes app

Hi,Perhaps a small bug, but not sure. I have a detail table, 'unit’ with a grid only screentype. Edit in grid is on by default. 34 columns pk, unit_number, client_account_id, full/empty. When I click the gui copy button, a new row is added. When immediately clicking the copy button again, the gui controls crash. Edit/copy/save and suck stop working. Also on other tables. No errors in the Indicium log.Opening other rows, tables etc also fails. GUI version 2023.3.13.0.0Blommetje

Export uses table order, not subjects. Can this be configured?

Hi, When we do an export (immediately) from our grid the column order in Excel is based on the table column order. However, in the subject, the order is different. Is it correct that the export uses the table column order, and not the subject order? And if so, can this be modified?We have a table and a variant with a different grid order.. so the table column order is not ideal. Thanks! Blommetje

patch through Indicium with multiple pk

Hi, I have a table account_authorization. This has a pk of tenant_id and account_authorization_id. When I want to stage/patch/commit a request through indicium, it throws a 400 bad request. I try: …/account_authorization(1,1)/stage_editI don’t think I can expand this through the tenant_table, since that is not supported for staging if i’m correct. In Short; How can I patch this table? Iam model_sync error on

Hi, Recently we have added two reports in our app. These work ok, no other reports. However, since we added them, our deployment breaks. Executing Database Server script 'MODEL_SYNC.sql' - sync_role_tab_variant_reportError; Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'tab_variant_id', table 'CENTER_ERP_IAM.dbo.role_tab_variant_report'; column does not allow nulls. UPDATE fails.We use both reports on 1 table, we do not have report variants nor table variants in play here . I have applied the rights - several times and checked the settings. Do not see anything weird with it. When I comment out the code from the model_sync.sql, all seems good. Any thoughts on how this can be fixed? What could be the cause of it? Thanks! Blommetje

IAM does not activate app for user

Hi, We have an app deployed at the client, where "nothing” has changed. However, something did break. According to the client they restored the data Db due to a problem but left the IAM Db untouched. After this restore, whatever we try , we cannot grant access to any user. We all can access IAM, but not the app. I've have copied the Db to my testing server and tried a lot. Deployed a new model. Made a new app. Removed all users groups. Deactivated and reactivated all modules. Reset users.. Did a schema compare to our UAT Db. Didn't show a thing. In the Tenants overview - In the Current Access, i see. Users = x Users groups = x Granted Module = 0 (!) Granted Apps = 0 (!)When comparing with the LAB environment, all settings are the same. Any pointers on where to look? I would love to know why this ''suddenly’ stopped working and we can't fix it. Thanks! Blommetje

Previewer throws error

Hi,Since this morning our previewer does not work in the web gui. It works fine in both Win and Universal.Also, downloading the file in the Web gui works, so the paths should be ok. oh ohAny thoughts on why this is? I don't have a clue now. Blommetje

'Function' takes forever

Hi,Short question, but since the latest upgrade of the SF the step in page ‘Generate Source Code’This step sometimes takes around 15 minutes. I can’t explain why, since we do not have a crazy amount of ‘Functions’ in the code group: 14. All quite simply functions as well, e.g. get usr_id, get_dateAny thoughts on why this specific step (other are crazy fast!) takes so long, and what can be done to fix it? Thanks! Blommetje

Process flow add row fails on first run

Hi, Found a bit of a bug perhaps, but i'm not sure if it's me or Software Factory/ gui. I have 2 tables; Order and Order_unit. Order_unit is a detail of Order, hidden by default. When a 'order_type’ field in Order is set to ‘unit’- we show the detail tab through ctx. I have a process flow with these steps; Add row Order --> Decision (check if 'unit’ or not)If not - stop. If yes - Activate Detail Order_unit → add row Order_unit. (in grid) This works fine, the second time OR when you select an old Order row, and open the unit detail. It feels/seems that Universal does not completely load the page/adding or something. The second row Order, and it works fine, also when 'previewing’ Unit tab. We are up to date with our gui and all. Any thoughts? Blommetje

Show data from connecting tables without a view

Hi, When I have a table Activity with a connecting table to Item. This is the table Activity_item. Since I can connect several items to several activities. The connection table has 2 columns, activity_id and item_id, both the pk. The end user however would like to see more data from the item_table weight, owner, position, etc. Currently we can one get this data by creating a view from the connection table, join the tables and show all data needed. This is quite unpractical. What other ways would be possible to solve this, since connecting tables will (almost) always need more data from the other tables. I do not want to save duplicate data of course.. Thanks! Blommetje

Pass message to indicium

Hi, I have a subroutine ‘delete_project’. When I call this, it deletes the project. When a record has Referential Integrity and ‘No Action’, Indicium nicely respond with a base64 encoded message that it ‘ can’t delete due to Related <tablename>’ . So far, all good. However, when I don’t want to delete the project because it has for example a [status] = ‘active’ - so deleting is not allowed. In the gui we can display a message. Or with importing some data from an API, at the end we show a success/failure message; perhaps with a Process flow. Is it possible - and if so, how - to pass these messages through Indicium? If a user connects with the end-point, it will make a lot more sense then a 422 - unprocessable entity when something is not allowed, or processed correctly.Thanks! Blommetje

Surpress 'the saved data can not be displayed' notification

Hi,Because of the problem described here (prefilter blocks showing new inserted data), I have added a process flow that will turn off all prefilters, and jump to the new row. Works fine in the basics. However, I still get this notification; Can this notification be surpressed, since it is confusing. Due to the PF I am now at the correct record, yet this notification states otherwise. Or any other way this problem can be solved? Blommetje

Insert new row into detail/lookup through form field

Hi,We have a form (‘Workorder’) with a lookup to another table (‘container_number’). When the container_number is not found, you can’t save the Workorder. However, for almost every entry, we have to enter a new container_number.Is there some way where we can do a check on the lookup (if exists), and if it does not exist, we insert it - preferably with a message to confirm - directly into the table ‘Container_number’ - and save the Workorder. Now the end-user needs to check, click the Looking Glass - Add, enter the number, Save, Select.. Quite a hassle. Let me know how this can be achieved the best/easiest way! Thanks! Blommetje

Grid row height in Universal differs

Hi, in my Model Overview→ Branch → Model Settings I have set the Grid Row height to 22px. In most screens this works; However, in some screens I still get the Universal Default, which is larger. Is this a known issue, could it be me? Anyone also having this? Thanks!Blommetje

Prevent user from disabling account

Hi,We have deployed an app to the client. The consultant however somehow managed to delete his own main admin account. Due to this, we couldn’t access IAM anymore. I did not want to ask the client to fix this, so we ran some queries and all is ok now. Is there an option to somehow prevent this - aside from smarter consultants? Can we - as developers - perhaps create a ‘Mandatory’ account that will always be there, and cannot be deleted from IAM through the gui? A simple mistake cost quite a bit of time.. Blommetje

Synchronize Azure DevOps board with SFOn the backlog

If I am correct, it is currently not possible to synchronize taks/stories/bug/etc from the Azure dev board to the 'Specification’ (Features/iterations/..) in the SF Our Product Owners and all involved do not work in the SF. Therefor, if we can sync the sprints and the tasks in the sprint, we could monitor progress better. Since this is currently not synced, we do use the 'Specification’ menu, and that is a shame. To sync PO/testers/and bug reporting with development, this might come in handy.

How to generate previous version?

Hi All, We have an automated generate/deployment, but I’m running into some issues. We have .55 deployed. I expect .56 - with Data migration based on .55. However, for a reason unknown to me, it throws an error; (base64 decode) “Cannot create a deployment package because the version control source, MAIN > 2023-06-22 14:52 does not have an up-to-date program object archive. \r\n\r\nMake sure to generate definition and source code of MAIN - 2023-06-22 14:52 before continuing."How can I generate the Definition/Source for this version, without creation a new version? I’ve tried generating a version based on .54, but it create a new version. I’ve tried generating, removing, etc. When I set the Data Migration based on .54 its works. BUT of course the upgrade script will fail due to existing domains etc. Currently we have these; In the past i could go back a version, re-generate that version, and all would be good. But with the new flow of working, I’m kinda lost. What to do?! Thanks! Al

Can't find toolbar

Hi,The topic is closed, but I can't quite figure it out. This topic; https://community.thinkwisesoftware.com/questions-conversations-78/universal-search-and-prefilter-in-screen-4095it says that the Toolbar should be there. My problem is still there, and I still have to solve it.But when I look here; https://community.thinkwisesoftware.com/product-updates/release-notes-universal-gui-2023-1-17-4124#New+screen+component:+ToolbarShould the SF support this from 2023.1I have SF 2023.1 with all the hotfixes. Here; that toolbar.Also, I can't find anything regarding this in the Docs. What am I missing? Or what are the alternatives? Thank you!Blommetje

Apostrophe in User Group throws Bad Request

Hi, A consultant at the client side has created a User Group and added some roles. However, this constantly throws a Bad Request in IAM. I suspect that the cause is, that the user used an apostrophe. WO’s Indicum Error log; ‘[ERR] Invalid OData URL. The path '"/usr_grp(tenant_id=1,usr_grp_id='WO%20-%20alle%20wo's%20minus%20instruction')/detail_ref_usr_grp_usr_grp_admin/badge()"' is invalid. (2f035637)Microsoft.OData.ODataException: Syntax error at position 45 in '(tenant_id=1,usr_grp_id='WO - alle wo's minus instruction')'.’I cannot rename the User Group (through IAM), the task won’t come up. It works ok on other user Groups. When removing the ‘ from the name, things worked ok (rename task, no bad request). Is this a known issue? Any way to prevent the end user from doing this? Now that I’ve renamed in usr_grp it through the Db, will this effect it’s functionality (since the ID has changed)? This is now in a testing environment, but this is also in prod, and we don’t want to break th

Origin model version is not set

Hi, Last week I had some issues with a deployment (outside of SF). Because of that I had to delete the latest version, and my merge session with it. My work was still in my branch. Now when I want to merge my branch into main, there is no Origin Model version. When I select other branches (that work fine - merging both ways) - it is set. I assume this is the problem for my error “The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "ref_model_vrs_merge_session". The conflict occurred in database "ITP_SF", table "dbo.model_vrs".” It would be very, very nice to not loose the branch since there is quite some work in it. Any advice is welcome! Blommetje
