Hi all,We would like to check whether it is possible in SQL or somewhere within the Software Factory to retrieve the IP address of the device that a user is currently working on.In our warehouse, employees work on tablets that are placed on carts, each cart having a dedicated label printer underneath. Our goal is to automatically link the correct printer to the tablet that is being used, based on the tablet’s IP address. This way, the label will always be printed on the correct printer without manual selection.We have already written some SQL code to retrieve the IP address, but when we execute it we only get the IP address of the webserver (or application server), instead of the IP address of the individual tablet/client device.We also checked the Thinkwise documentation about generated session variables, but we were not able to get it working and we are not sure if this is the correct approach for our use case:https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/sf/business_logic#generated-sessio

Hello!While testing SF in Universal we discovered that on merge after you resolve a conflict you are not able to come back to your decision as you were in Desktop GUI.I think this is pretty important since it means if you do something wrong and need to adjust your decision, the session must be rebuilt.

We have a TW application where occasionally we get an ‘unexpected error', and the only way to recover after that, seems to restart the app after this error.  It occurs when pressing a specific button It is NOT reproducible on command It can go 1x wrong and (after app restart) 10x OK without error, pressing the same button the error occured in different installation environments (Development and Deployed at customer) the app is using the Windows GUI it occured in TW 2022.2 and TW 2024.2We would very much like to solve this error.Can anyone give us a solution direction?

Is there a way to duplicate windows in Software Factory opened with Universal?In GUI we had the duplicate window, but on web we cannot duplicate them.It will be annoying to keep 3 tabs of chrome for this.

The default threshold for the slow query log seems to be 200ms. Is there a way to change this without setting it for each individual object? Or maybe even turn the threshold off so that it becomes a replacement for the session log?

Hi!I’ve successfully run the full upcycler on the AdventureWorks model from the e-learning. I’m now exploring the (AI) model enrichments.I was able to execute the ‘Add a table description with AI’ enrichment without any issues. However, when I try to run ‘Translate all untranslated objects’, I don’t get any results under ‘Potential model updates’. The message indicates that no potential updates were found.Here’s what I’ve checked and prepared so far: I’m using the GPT-5 model, and there’s sufficient budget available to process the requests. I want the translations to be in Dutch, and I’ve entered this in the ‘Filter the language for which translations must be generated’ field. The API key is correct. The first enrichment wouldn’t have worked otherwise. There are 2386 untranslated objects in total. Do you have any idea what might be causing this, or is there anything specific I should check next?  

Hi,  I moved a user to a new tenant and gave him new usergroups. After problems with logging in. I did move the user back to the previous tenant and gave him the previous usergroups. However, he does still have the same error when trying to login; “Wrong user credential or no rights to application”. I do have some recommendations for the user in IAM, but I do not know what is meant by it, no other user had start objects, so I don’t think that is it. What does auto_load_gui_appl means? Do I have to sync the IAMKind regards, 

Hi,We've created a helptext concept that allows users to start a helptext pop-up per screen with a table task. The content of the helptext is created/modified in a special maintenance screen.The created helptext items have a tab_id and tab_variant_id as PK columns to separate them per table/table variant.When a user starts a helptext (with the table task open_help) the pop-up screen needs to display the helptext for the current tab_id and tab_variant_id. The process flow does the trick. The tab_id can be determined by an expression field, but the current tab_variant_id is unknown.Is it possible to know the current tab_id and tab_variant_id when starting a table task? Kind regards,Kevin Bakkenes

Sometimes a user gets the following message. This looks like a GUI message (TSFReportMailer?). The report file is stored in the model. What could be the reason?   

 TL/DR: I’m experiencing unexpected behavior regarding Conditional Formatting within the Universal Cube. Formating is applied to the entire row, is was expecting it to only apply to the cell. The Setup: We use a Cube to visualize supply and demand per week. Quantity < 0: Shortage so Red background. No. of notes > 0: Yellow background on Quantity Value The Issue: The formatting logic changes based on the visibility of the field used for the condition (No. of notes): Field Visible: The formatting works perfectly. Only the specific cells (intersections) containing a note are highlighted in yellow. Field Hidden: When I remove the No. of notes field from the Cube view (but keep it in the Cube definition), the entire row turns yellow if there is at least one note anywhere in that row. we use Active Directory authentication (Windows) in our Thinkwise environment, I’m looking for a way to prefill the username in the Universal GUI with our domain-prefix, eg. “ourcompany.local\”We currently do this already for the Windows GUI by adding “Users = ourcompany.local\” to the application.ini.In this case the user needs to key in less data to login. 

We’re using the “OAuth user login connector” in a process flow to retrieve an authentication token for Microsoft Graph.After a successful login, the "oauth_awaiting_external_login" popup doesn’t close.  Why does this popup remain, what might I be missing? Versions:    Indicium 2025.3.14.1  /  Universal 2025.3.14.0.0 

We configured in IAM the extended property CustomTimeMask with value ‘H:mm’ to hide the seconds for time and date time fields.But with Universal 2025.3+, this seems not longer supported. It is still coming now including the seconds: In IAM we only have option to show the date part in some different format, but the time part is not taken into account. Is there an option to have the (date)time fields showed again without seconds as that detailed level is not needed?

Preparing for the releases in 2026.1, we are attempting to create an IAM user in the SF.Upon successful registration in the IAM and role / main adminstrator rights, the user can not access the applications through the Indicium of this SF install. 404 errors when querying the API routes for applications.The following error when logging into the UGUI. 

We have a form that is open to edits from the user, set to auto-edit, and auto-save. After edits the user can press a button which updates the record in the background (using some data from an external source). After the background update the record is refreshed using “Refresh table”, resulting in visible updated data in the form as well.Now what happens when the user makes another edit is where the problem lies, the error "The record could not be saved because it was modified by another party after the edit action was started. Please refresh the data and try again." shows up.If we take this error literally, then it is correct, the edit action never ended because the same form is still up and all that happened is that it was updated in the background and then refreshed, meaning that the edit was now started before the refresh happened.I think this would be solved by restarting the edit action on table refresh. I’ve currently opted to disable auto-edit, and require the user to click the

For a process I want to send files from a file path into base64 format to an external webservice. For this purpose i used the read file connector inside a process flow. However the setup i seem to fail at getting the setting right. In the process flow choosing the storage location as required. However in our log i keep getting the error returned.  Is there any specifics to handle the formatting for the file path? Any help/examples would help. 

In update SF2025.3 the column appl_lang_id has been removed from the usr table. It seems that the SF view i_api_usr still references that column.

I noticed that the Crystal Reports rpt files are shown in the IAM under Applications > General settings > Report: I can replace the rpt file with a newer version here I suppose?But when I tried I still got the old report that was defined in the SF.How is this supposed to work? Is it supposed to work in the Windows GUI or maybe only Universal GUI?Currently we usually update the report in the SF and redeploy every time the customer sends us a new version. Would be great if he could do that himself in the IAM ;)

Reading a response by Arie I saw the mention of “Start empty with filter” option that on can use on Subject. Excited that this is seemingly working in Universal, I tried the feature. The result is however different than what I was expecting.Windows GUI:When opening a screen from the menu, you will have it load without results and a Filter Form popup will happen.You can choose to straight away filter or click “OK” without entering filter data. In the last situation all the data will load as if you had never chosen to enable the option “Start empty with filter”.Universal GUI:When opening a screen from the menu, you will have it load without results and it will show a text in the grid “Use find or filter to view data”.I have to open the Filter Form myself if I want to use it or start using the Combined Filter.So far this is acceptable even though it works a bit different. I noticed that there is an option to add custom colors in the SF under “ Advanced menu - Master data - Model - Colors”.I have added some of our company brand colors, but in my model I don’t see them when a color can be set, for example for the Theme or Subject conditional format.So the question is where there colors can be used ?
