HI team, I want to hide combo box values based on the roles logged in to Universal. Can we achieve that in Software factory. If it possible can any of us guide me through this. Example scenario - We are having Employee Details module for our app. In that module, there is an option called employee role which consists of Super Admin, Client Admin, Employee, HR, IT manager roles.What I need is if the client admin logged into the application, we need to hide the combo box option in Employee role which is Super Admin option.  So If any of us know the solution, kindly update in the forum. Hi there, We would like to know if its possible to download a pdf file (or convert it to base64) through an api. Sadly the API only gives the PDF file instead of a base64 encoded string. If abose is possible. Please explain how. Because we dont know where to start even. Results :Preferred method : Save it as base64Optional and not preferred : Save the file on our own server.Must have : Displayable on our own application

Hey all,Whenever i open packing preparation in the web gui i get this: but when i open it in Universal or my local desktop gui it works fine. Any idea what could be causing this?

I have created a ftp connection with a very bacic ftp side. There is no ssl, no tls, no nothing, only address, username and password. Directly from the server we can connect with filezilla. From the TW ftp connector we cannot connect. I checked the ftp site and the credentials thoroughly end those are 100%  correct. When we connect from the server we run into a message “This server does not support ftp over tls” “Your password and files will be sint in clear over the internet” So we have to click away this message. Could this message be the bottleneck for the TW ftp connecter giving the STATUS -2.  Our system engineers ask if we can use the option “command-line override” for this ftp connection. Is this possible. What else can I do? Thanks anyone for answering.     

We have created a few tables that are linked by references. We have a created a new screentype with a detail tiles component. The result is that all linked tables are showed as different tiles. We want just a few detail tiles, not all.We tried already to change the details grouping, but there we can only create new references, and by existing ones, it is not possible to select the source and target fields.Please advice

I noticed that when I copy one of my existing start table task process actions the new one isn't added to the design tab:  

I want to import a table (customers_table) from my main project (ProjectA) to a new project (ProjectB).What happen if I add some new fields in ProjectB? Should I sync in some way the table structure? Or every copy of  customers_table  has its own ‘life’ ?Regarding licensing model: customers_table on ProjectB and customers_table on ProjectA are considered as 1 (one) table?

I have a Program object in Functionality > Assigning that is marked with a red italic font.What does that tell me, and more importantly “how to fix it”? Would be nice if the help was a bit more helpfull 😇I did figure out that it helps to completely remove the assigned templates from this program object and re-assign them.But I havn't got a clue why I need to do that ;)

I got the message that the automatically generated follow-up process action variable was too long.The maximum is 128 charactersBut this name is automatically generated from the automatically generated name of the arrow/step in the processflow.Shouldn't that name be limited to 128 characters as well? That way this can never happen...

Hi,I am experiencing a problem with starting the Windows GUI with Clickstart on a shared network location.Because on my device, the network location is mapped to e.g. “M:\” and for another person this might be different, I am specifying the location of the Clickstarter as UNC path (“\\path-to-server”).However, when I do this, I get the error: could not find a part of the path (to file: "\\path-to-server\...\Thinkwise App\Cache\Images\SQLSERVER_SF_2021.3\Report\requirement_report_requirement_report.repx") when trying to start the ThinkWise application with Clickstart.I know the path is right, because it is able to find the clickstarter and the check for updates is triggered. Whenever I use the UNC path in my file explorer, the UNC path works as expected.Any idea what might be the issue? The path is quite long

We have a customer with an external application that will be using our Thinkwise based application. From this external application they want to be able to directly open a Thinkwise document (of a specific type, with a specific id). Prerequisite of course is that the person needs to be authenticated first, but once authenticated it should be able to open the specific form.For the external application it will be possible to know the type (subject) and the id needed to reference the specific instance.Concrete example.:For their product development (system integrations) they use a system to manage the backlog and such. Within our system we provide customer focused service management using a ticketing system. From their backlog they want to be able to open the ticket that they reference in their backlog, preferably using somekind of url.We are using Universal for our Thinkwise product development. Is it possible to access the Universal GUI in such a way that we can directly open a document

We are in the works of reworking our Azure deployment, cleaning up some of the mess we created while we where still learning etc.We are currently only using a single App Service instance, currently we have no reason to believe this will change soon. Still I was looking at implementing Redis Cache to be ready for the moment we would want to scale horizontally, are there any other benefits to the Redis Cache other than being able to do horizontal scaling?Maybe performance or sessions lasting through app service restarts? 

We have a client that uses openId. Unfortunatly the claims response doesn't provide all the information needed to be able to determine the user groups a user needs to have assigned. We need to make a call to another system to retrieve the information to determine this.For now we run the logic to determine this and adjust user groups when the user clicks a menu item. What we would like to do is run this logic as soon as possible after the login. Best would be before menu items are loaded.Is this possible? Or is there an alternative that we didn't think of?

Hi All,The Thinkwise Reporting Service generates an Image from the values in rpt_queue.Is it possible for DevExpress reports to give a resolution (dpi) for example 300 dpi for Image (PNG) in the table rpt_queue.In the DevExpress Report Designer if I do an export of IMAGE the default value for Resolution is 96 dpi but I want to send another dpi value when inserting into rpt_queue table. DevExpress Report Designer Image Export 

Hey all,I am having an issue.i concatenated a value with cubic meters but i am having an issue with displaying it in my grid.When i look at it in my local environment it displays correct:these are the values in my database:But when i deploy it, it looks like this: Any idea what could be causing the issue?

I am getting the following error after I changed a template, then I have to generate definition. When I try to do this I get the below error. When I create and generated code via deployment it works..What causes this?I'm on 2023.1, latest GUI and applied all hotfixes.

Hi, I have a view that calculates the total volume. The results on my machine in vscode and ssms are fine. Also, the local gui is fine, both web and universal.   However, in the web this happens; This also happens in the Universal gui. I suspect a local setting, since locally hosted (universal) and local win gui are fine. Not the most important , but it keeps me up at night.. .Perhaps a simple fix that  I've overlooked?Thanks ! Alexander

I've got a branch and a main, in the branch i've written functionality that's in need of an upgrade script. We're migrating some from a column that will be deleted during the upgrade to a new table, so therefore I need to assign it as a During upgrade script. Since after the first upgrade the column is deleted this script will cause future upgrades to fail, to prevent this I only want to execute this script when upgrading from our latest production version. To enable this, I've set Use upgrade logic to true for this version (in the main), this is having the desired result in the main, however in the branch these program objects are not showing up in the Assigning tab. What am I doing wrong? 

What is the current status of the Form List component in the Universal GUI.Is seems to work, but we get some errors, the screen becomes frozen, not always, but often, we cannot find a reason for this behavior.The Feature Matrix, says 'Work in Progress’, when can we expect the Form List to be 100% ready?
