Propose your fantastic ideas regarding the Thinkwise Platform to our Product Team.
For example, change the username displayed in the application bar to first name and last name.
When you are using the code review tools that are available within the Software Factory on occasion you will come across control procedures that contain templates that are insufficient and will result in disapproving the control procedure.Currently the only way to quickly gain insights into disapproved control procedures is from within the validation screen.I would like a prefilter in het functionality screen which will allow you to filter on disapproved control procedures that we submitted by me as a developer. That way I can quickly see which control procedures I have to change to fix them before being able to deploy my project version.
When you run unit tests you can either use Windows Integrated Authentication or manually enter your credentials. When you select the latter, there is no pre-entered data. In other parts of TSF (for instance when you want to generate a definition and connect to the database) the same data is pre-entered. But not when running unit test. Pre-entering it there as well would save a lot of time, especially when developing (and you want to run it multiple times to see if it is working).
Can this popup be kept within the GUI, or the message be given in the information panel? You do not always notice that it floats somewhere on the desktop. Especially if the synchronization runs on a remote desktop and you return after a while.
Some ideas to improve the Synchrozation Process between SF and IAM.Remember all Connection parameters, since the session was started, because it is very frustrating to re-enter Host, DB Name, Username and Password, again and again. Per environment would be great. Especially in cloud environments with long, non friendly, values.Make the task parameter field at least twice as long.
In our current project we need the ability to save a report to the database. Because of the sensitive medicale data that we are processing we need to clean our database as soon as possible. After a client has filled a questionaire we need to generate a PDF with the provided answers. We offer this PDF as download for the client and later on need to move that PDF to a document management system. We have been told that the only way currently available is to build a API endpoint that generates the report and call upon that API endpoint so we can store the generated PDF into the database. This feels like a suboptimal approach with the potentiel that we’re exposing and endpoint that has access to sensitive data.Having the ability to generate a report and store that report into the database directly would be very benificial to our processes and I can imagine helpfull for others as well.
Since the 2020.2 version reports are stored in the database in stead of in a directory. As far as I know the reporting service stil requires that the report is stored in a directory. The stored procedure rpt_get_reports now needs a parameter report_file_spec.You should be albe to use a report from a IAM database. Then it would be required to declare a connection string for the IAM database in the INI file of the reporting service. As extra parameters in the stored proc rpt_get_reports the project_id, version_idid (if nulll then use last version..) and reportname are needed
At Deployment -> creation -> tab unit tests you can find many unit tests. It would be nice if there could be a progress bar that at least informs the user of the progress.
I understand that this issue has already been addressed in However currently the order is confusing in the following way:Order of first column is: Table - Task Order of secord column is Task parameter - Column (so reverse from first column)I would like that the first and second column match. So this basically means that the order in the first column should be reversed (starting with Task and continue with Table).PS This also applies for Table task parameters within subjectsPPS Why are project and version visible from the subject and not from the task? Showing project and version is not something I see on other forms, so maybe removing them will be an extra bonus.
Currently in the Software Factory the checkbox Enable task/report in empty subject is set to true. Personally I would like the default set to false. In most cases the task/report should not be available when there is not subject. The exception is the case in which you would like to enable the task instead of hide it.
In the last release we got a kanban board within the Thinkwise Platform. I want to use it in my projects, but when I open the board I see all the work within an iteration. I'd like a prefilter for work items that are assigned to me.
We are running multiple Applications on the same Database, each having their own Translation (and alias). The information as displayed in IAM (Universal GUI) makes it unnecessarily hard to distinguish these different Applications.I would suggest either of these solutions - I prefer 1 more, but 2 might be even easier):Display the Translation (first Translation it finds or based on user Language setting) as Expression field on both Grid and Form Update the Expression field that is currently used as Display Lookup column for Applications to include the AliasCould this be improved in the next Release or in a hotfix?
Currently, when I want to send a message through the tsf_send_message stored procedure with a parameter that contains non-latin characters, such as Cyrillic and Thai, these characters are all converted to question marks.i.e. <TEXT>"ภาษาไทย Phasa thai"</TEXT> becomes <TEXT>"??????? Phasa thai"</TEXT>. However, as was noted in the answer to the related question, by changing the datatype of the tsf_send_message function from varchar to nvarchar, the use of non-latin characters in parameters will become possible.
After generating source code you can deploy them to the database in the Execute source code tab.I would like to select the various scripts to be able to see (check/edit) certain items before actually execute them on the database. It would also be interesting to know when a specific block of code was changed (using trace-information). Maybe that can also be added during generation.
For a while now, there is a checkbox that lets your code run in an atomic transaction. This is a great improvement allowing you to easily let your code run inside a transaction.I would like to propose an additional improvement, by letting the user put in a template within the catch-part of the atomic transaction. This way, you can add your own error handling in the catch part of the code as well.Below an example of what this could look like:CREATE or ALTER procedure demoasbegin --PART 1 of default transaction code, generated by default by Software Factory begin try begin transaction; --Force an error select 1/0; --PART 2 of default transaction code, generated by default by Software Factory commit transaction; end try begin catch if @@trancount > 0 begin rollback transaction; end; --USER ENTERED additional error handling --for example, writing some error in a log. insert into error_log (error_log_message) values ('something went wrong'); --PART 3 of default transaction code, generated by default by Software Factory throw; end catch;end
