Propose your fantastic ideas regarding the Thinkwise Platform to our Product Team.
When creating a view, most of the times it will be readonly as most of them are not updatable views. It would be good to have a setting or a default option to make the fields readonly when defining the view in the datamodel. Will save quite some time as you now all the fields manually have to change to readonly instead of editable.
Currently it is not possible to add multiple task bar components within a single screen type.I'm creating a wizard and want the goto previous task to be on the left side of the screen and the next task on the right side of the screen. After placing two task bars on the screen type and saving them, there is no way to indicate on which task bar a task will be placed.Currently a single task will then be placed in both task bars. In the Windows GUI this looks likeSame task shown two times. Left & right alignment are correct, but vertically they should be on the same line. My wish is that just like details, it is possible to assign a "detail group” (or in this case maybe a task group, even though that then has a double meaning), both in the screen type as for (linking) table tasks. In this way you can indicate in which task bar a task will be placed.Naturally the vertical alignment issue should also be resolved.
Unlike the title suggest, it could also be applied to drag&drop to, for instance, the windows Explorer from within a thinkwise applaction. This idea (or request) originates from a customer, who only works with the application via a browser, as they are located outside our network. The idea is great, to get a look and feel from within the Thinkwise application like you get in Windows Explorer and an Outlook email. There you can select one ore more files, drag them from the Explorer and drop them in an E-mail.
It would be very valuable to have OAuth v2.0 and v1.0 available in process flows. This will make integrations with 3rd party web API's, such as Microsoft Graph and Google, easy.
Selecting / searching for a "process action type" is a drop-down field. The sorting of the values (English) leaves much to be desired. Is there a way to get them sorted Alphabetically? Or instead of a dropbox the presence of a popup with perhaps some extra information / helptext.
The elements of a domain are always sorted in alphabetical order of the translation. If you want to sort based on the database value, you need to create an expression column (hidden and sorted). This will only work for the 'default sorting'. If you sort on the displayed column, it will still sort alphabetical. Another disadvantage of the work around is, that you need to specify an expression column for each table. Take for example a domain 'calendar_month' with elements: January (db-value=1), February (db-value=2) etc. It would be better to specify this once (domain).
One of the most used in tables in SF should be more easy to open
Within unit tests it is currently only possible to add fixed values.Expressions are currently not supported here, but can be of great value. Think of situations in which you have to use the current date or the date of tomorrow/yesterday.
I would like to have more control over the detail tabs of a cube. When I select a group or a group total, the context procedure should only give the values for the group and NULL values for the other parameters. This makes it possible to control what detail tab to show.
When working with the Windows GUI there's a Help button in the top right of the application. This gets its data from the Model. While it's very handy to have this functionality, when it's not set up and thus does not contain any content, it might confuse the user.I of course recommend every developer to fill the helptexts with information the user might need and answer the questions that might raise during usage.
A user can currently (if he has the rights to do so) regroup the columns of the grid, adjust the width of fields, change the sorting and create filters. A prospect, which is a software vendor, currently offers it's users the option of creating 1 or more ‘Gridviews', which can be switched between. Our GUI doesn’t support this (yet). A Gridview is a configuration of a screen (Table, View or Variant) where you can choose which fields are shown, how large they are, what the order is, what the sorting is and which filters are active. This would be a good addition to our current UP and quite possibly the SF.
In GUI version 2019.1.16 flags for French, Spanish and Portuguese have been added. We would like to see a flag for Chinese added for the Chinese translation we made for our employees in China.
When our IBM i platform is closed (e.g. due to maintenance) and a user tries to connect from the GUI (front-end) to the database for verification purposes, this will result in a meaningless warning, this is not desirable. The expectation/assumption is, when the system is closed, this message always appears (with every SF version). After all, it is IAM that tries to connect to the target system in question. When this has to be adjusted, I expect that this is an adjustment within a procedure within the desbereffende IAM, there will have to be a better error handling regarding this point.
Currenty on a table there is an option "Start empty with filter". We use this option in a scheduler scheduler screen, as for different users the number of rows can vary and have negative results on performance. But the majority of user only have a limited amount of resources to manage in the scheduler. So an idea to create a processflow to determain wheter we're looking at the data as a "power-user" or not and so starting with an empy filter or not is not possible in a processflow. So an extra process action would be appreciated: "Open Filter" or something like this. Also ordering alphabetically in the possible actions, or a pop-up would make life easier....
Since SF suite 2019.1 roles have to be configured from within the Software Factory, instead of the IAM application. In order to test your role configuration, it is possible to set a specific role within a run time configuration. What I would like, is the option to set multiple roles within a run time configuration. In most cases you would to test a set of roles combined, instead of a single role.
I'd like to measure the productivity of SF developers (for example trainees) in the IAM. Now I can check the 'use log user actions' in IAM, or use the session/action analysis, but I'd like to see their activity on a day to day basis to see what they are doing and when/how long this takes. Maybe this can be solved with some default cube views on those analysis, but I think additional functionality (like a report) could give some usefull insights. Especially for the management of trainees, this can be a usefull tool. Not to 'spy' on them ofcourse, but to give insights and a topic of conversation during review meetings.
Not sure if I am the only one having difficulty to keep rights to fields / files consistant with the original plan when upgrading a project. But each time I add a field to a table for instance, it's a hassle. It would be a great addition to be able to select an existing field to copy all rights from. This could be achieved by either a new task or having the field editable (see screenshot). in this example I've selected a similar existing field first and selected all Rolls with reading rights. Then start the task "Assign Rights". If the Column field (Kolom) would be a dropdown for instance life would become a lot easier. A task would be much nicer. Two variants come to mind: "Copy rights to" and "Copy rights from"...
I would like to copy the rights from another object (of the same type?). When you use a "negative senario" (nothing allowed, unless), then it would be easier to copy the rights from another table or column.
For users it is useful to have clear insight into which tab(s) are still in edit mode. Can this be indicated by, for example, placing an exclamation mark next to the tab or in another way?
It often happens that code templates can be shared between different code groups. An example of this is a try-catch template that can be used for tasks as well as procedures, or a check that can be shared by context and a task. Idea: Templates not per code group but generally weave.
