Data authorization prefilter NamingCompleted

When configuring Prefilter rights for specifics roles, there is an option named Data authorization prefilter, which determines whether a prefilter is always active and locked. I myself and other developers I have worked with, find this name a little confusing. Therefor I’am looking for a better name for this option. This topic has been created to determine whether this name might have to be changed. If so, which name is the preferred name?

Almost always you’re going to merge you’re active branch. However currently I need to select that branch from a dropdown, it would save time and effort if my current active branch would be defaulted so I do not need to select it.

Copy To Clipboard control on a DomainCompleted

Hi all,Wouldn’t it be nice to have a copy to clipboard for specific fields to make the life of the user easier. The User does not need to mess around trying to Select, Highlight then copy with keyboard Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V or right click when allowed to Copy+Paste etc… Too much hassle too many operations. This could be easily created for both the Web and Universal GUI.A Control could be added on the Domain for enabling the Copy to Clipboard. That would show a small icon for Copy to Clipboard on the related field (form, grid) The value of the field to be copied to Clipboard.How does that sound?Anyone else have additional input for such functionality and amend the above, please let us know in the idea comments.

Mock data set based on viewCompleted

At this moment the Software Factory does not support creating mock data based on views. This means that functionality that is based on a view cannot be covered by unit tests. I’m not sure if it is, but a work around could be to fill all the tables on which the view depends on with mock data, but this could get very time consuming and not necessary if you don’t want to test the view itself. If it would be possible to create mock data based on views, then the Software Factory can for example:Rename the existing view Create a mock table based on this view, with the original name add the mock data After the unit test has completed, the mock table can be dropped and the view renamed to it’s original name.

Able to hide a task in the taskbar when task is used for double clickCompleted

It would be nice if you have the option to hide a task in the taskbar when you use the task as a double click task.For example: When you use double click in the grid to navigate to the form or details from that record then the task doesn't (always) need to be visible in the taskbar. But now when you hide the task the double click function doesn't work.

Select default startup branch in 2023.1Completed

IN 2023.1 you get the popup to select a branch if you have multiple active branches. However, more often then not you are working exclusively in 1 branch at a time. I suggest adding a default branch option to the user which branch should be loaded by default, this way you won't have to select the branch every time you boot up the software factory.

Add description to DomainsCompleted

The power of domains is that they are easy to reuse and thus to maintain. However the name alone is sometimes not enough to communicate it’s use. So it would be nice if you could add a short description to a domain.This way you could add a quick description describing why it was created and why for example the min and max values are the way that they are. This keeps this knowledge in the Software Factory instead of in the brains of the developers.

Make mock data value expression fields readibleCompleted

When configuring mock data, you have the option to use expressions to fill the mock data values. However, they are not readible in the SF as the field is covered in a horizontal scrollbar. Can we make the fields wider or higher so we can read the fields, without opening an external text editor with the pencil?

Generate default logic for HandlersCompleted

When I use a Handler, I would like to add specific logic to the handler and next to that I mostly what the default insert, update, or delete to be executed.Currently I have to add and maintain the default logic myself, which takes a lot of time and increases the risk of errors.As a user, I would like to indicate that I want to use the Handler and have the option to indicate whether or not I want to use the default insert, update, or delete. And if so, have the SF generate them for me. This way, I only need to develop the specific logic.

Selecting multiple prefilters now always leads to: where [prefilter 1 query] AND [prefilter 2 query]. I would also very much like to have the possibility to make OR prefilters. Not only between columns (colour = red OR shape = square) but also within columns (colour = red OR colour = blue OR shape = square).

2023.1: Add a tree structure for insight in branch levelsCompleted

In the 2023.1 version all branches are part of the same model. To add a better overview of branch levels please add a tree structure to showcase if a branch is created from the main (root) or a different branch. Currently it's not visually clear what are 1st or 2nd (etc) level branches.

Execute control procedure from process flow step screenCompleted

During the construction of a process flow, process steps must be adjusted regularly. If you already have code attached to these steps, you will often see that the GUI generates an error message because the parameters for the process procedures have to be generated again. If that is the case, we need to look at that process step to see which process procedure is attached to it, then look it up in control procedures and re-generate the code groups and execute the generated code. It would be nice to be able to do this directly from a process step, so we don't forget these actions and run into frustrating errors in the gui. In addition, it would also be nice to be able to do this from the process parameter (or process flow/design) screen, so that when a new process variable is created, the code from all steps in the process flow can also be easily re-generated and executed. I understand that the above solution might be a bit short-sighted or that there is a solution that fits a bit better and I would love to hear it! But I think it is clear what irritations I am trying to expose.

Task to copy Filter/Search order numbers from column order numbers.Completed

Currently you can only copy between filter and search order numbers. It would be really neat if we can copy the order numbers from the column order numbers.This is because sometimes when you change the order numbers on the columns the filter/search order numbers wont change with them and the filter popup gets really messy. And it's annoying to manually reset these filter order numbers.

Hello dear Community readers, In the upcoming release of 2023.1 we expect to technically change the way screens are opened for every screen that used the ribbon to select a project and version (so almost all SF screens).A side-effect is that is it now possible to automatically (read: with process flows) open other SF screens without losing the connection to your selected project and version. I could think of a few places where this is very helpful, for instance to switch from data model to subject with respect for the table that you were working on.My question to you is; where would you like to use this the most in the Software Factory? Include duration of actions in smoke testCompleted

With the release of the 2023.1 version of the Thinkwise Suite a new feature was introduced, the Smoke Test. I would like to utilize this feature and allow it to do a quick performance scan.Since it's actions will require the opening of screens, it could help identify possible performance issues within an application. In order to so, it needs to store the duration of the steps which are executed.Could this be implemented in the Smoke Test?

Display module column in role screenOpen

At the moment you can assign a role to one or more modules. An IAM administrator can manage roles per module.In the roles (management, Software Factory) screen it is not possible to see to which module(s) a role is linked nor can you use a module to filter the roles which you would like to edit in the role screen.I would really like to have an extra column in the role screen (first column) which contains the modules to which the role is assigned. If a role is assigned to multiple modules, just put all the modules in this column and use a “,” as separator. Also include this field in the combined filter.Having this in place will allow me to remove the module name from the role name.

tooltip for disabled tasks/detailsOpen

Hello, we prefer to disable tasks for users rather than hide them completely, so that a user knows that the task is still present, but not applicable to that particular record. However, it is currently difficult to indicate WHY the task is not available. Sometimes this is obvious and can be inferred from the name, but sometimes you would like to offer a user more information. We would like to be able to provide a tooltip to a disabled task (or detail) either through a context procedure or through translation objects or in some other way, so that we can inform the user why the task or detail is disabled. The context procedure would be best, as the reason why a task/detail is grayed out can be multiple, which are defined in the control procedure. Translation objects would work, but is not preferrable because then we have to describe ALL the reasons in the tooltip, leaving the user to figure out for himself which reason applies to him at that moment.

For most process flows (and subflows) I use a standard set of process variables. I would like to have a "copy process variables" function, similar to "copy columns" when editing table columns, so I can add the whole set of parameters at once instead of adding them manually one by one.

Support for a set of CSS settingsClosed

After Tuesday's session around CSS, it became clear to me that there are quite a lot of items in the Universal UI that can be styled. Currently any set up CSS could break after a new release of the Universal UI. For most of the style able items this is to be expected. However, it would be great of Thinkwise could (temporary) support a default set of custom CSS items. For example, the form group header font and coloring. This support can be dropped when these setting become available in the Software Factory.This support could even be as simple as just mentioning in the release notes that previous set up custom CSS for this item will break in the release.

Filter without dependency on the previously selected filterOpen

Currently, we can use a filter form to filter for values that occur in the dataset. If filtered for a specific value, the set of values in the filter form will be filtered in addition to the dataset. As a result, you must first remove the value in the filter form, which in turn causes all the data to be displayed unfiltered (and thus the values in the filter form as well). Only then you can enter the new filter value. We would like to be able to configure that the values in the filter form are not filtered based on the selected value in the filter form. The values presented should then depend on the original dataset, and not on the dataset currently being looked at. The set of values then becomes a "unique" set of data that is refreshed again with each filter action, based on the original dataset.Without any active filtering all available dates are shown in the dropdown box.After selecting a date and submitting the selection other options are no longer available because of the previously filtered value.

Formatting of JSON files in Document Previewer UniversalOpen

We are saving interface messages to file storage and when using the Document Previewer in Universal we get a unformatted string without syntax highlighting. Our workaround is copy pasting the content to Notepad++, it works but ain't pretty. Would be very nice to have a JSON formatter and syntax highlighting build into the Document Preview of Universal.

Disable unit testing on productionOpen

At this moment it's possible to run unit tests on a specific database and server configured in a runtime config. Running unit tests on Production (and sometimes even Acceptance) can be pretty tricky. If the unit test were to fail due to an transaction mismatch, the transaction might not be rolled back, which can result in serious data loss. To prevent this from happening, maybe its an idea to define if running unit tests is allowed on a runtime config level. And off course make sure this is blocked when a developer triggers unit tests via this runtime config.

Hi,I was looking for a way to for the Combined filter to have a "Starts with” condition, but we have notice that the condition column was not implemented to the combined filter.Only the Filter and the Search have the condition column.
