Next steps for the Thinkwise Platform
In an average Thinkwise application most data is displayed using a grid / form combination. For most data this makes sense, as you can search data in the grid and manage it in the form. Some data becomes clearer and easier to work with when visualized as a matrix, arranged in a grid of rows and columns similar to a table or spreadsheet. Unlike the standard Grid screen component, however, the rows and columns in an Editable pivot grid can be defined dynamically through data, offering much greater flexibility. The (previously well hidden) way to present matrix data in a Thinkwise application is using an Editable pivot grid. The Editable pivot grid has the following key characteristics: Quickly manage large amounts of data Recognizable to users because of similarity to tools like Excel Row and column values are defined in data. This allows for much greater flexibility than regular forms where columns are predefined. An example of how to use an Editable pivot grid to show matrix data is a
Since some time we don’t see the application icon anymore in the Windows taskbar for the Windows GUI. This is for both the SF as our end-user applications. What we see is: This is already since a longer time, and we didn’t notice it straight away, so don’t know if it's related to some Thinkwise update or Windows update. Also changing the icon in the IAM Global Settings doesn't solve the issue…. Any solution for this ? (we are working on the latest WIndows GUI and latest 2024.2 patch)
In our application designing process one person describes the model and of course, a crucial part of the description is the database model drawing We discuss this and com to a version that can can be creted in the thinkwise SF I would like to know if there is an easy way to jump start this step (looking at the theme developing 10x faster) Two questions: about the ai generation, can please someone tell me what I'm missing? Is there a way to import some kind of database scheme? For example, I experimented with designing with dbdiagram.io/ that can export a creation script fror sql. If we could import that, that would save a considerable amount of time. I did see the option to create an AI generated model (which did not work for me for some reason
When using “Change Filter” in a process flow it always reverts to “Equals”, it would be more useful if the filter condition could be changed, to “Contains” for instance. Also, the Docs article on the subject contradicts itself on this matter: Filter values on columns of a specific subject can be set with this process action. It can be indicated for each column which filter condition and which filter value must be used. However: The filter value that must be set on the column in question as an equal to filter condition. This parameter is present for every column of the subject.
Currently it’s only possible to add a theme to a “User” or a “User Group”.In our situation we have a theme for an application and platform. As we also have a lot of user groups it's quite a lot of work assigning the same theme to all user groups on all platforms (for our full DTAP we also have 4 IAM’s) So please make it possible to assign a theme on application level also add the possibility to differentiate on platform and set a default menu. Functionality can be placed as a detail tab under “General settings” at the application in IAM
Some errors, especially on views can be huge. This will make it not possible to click on the show database event log unless you zoom out to a tiny zoom level. Please set a maxium for the information thrown. And when too large show a snippet instead. normal zoom: Zoom level 33% will show the hyper links:
We are looking at DBML a DB markup language that grows with you. Is that something that Thinkwise could support? Especially in scenario's you don't start with the Upcycler and you start building data structures together with a client. https://dbml.dbdiagram.io/docs
I have an api that inserts/updates data on a regular basis (every few seconds it adds a record or updates one. This table is visible in the GUI so I've activated auto refresh with an interval of about 5 seconds. This works fine until the user tries to select multiple rows at the same time…Every 5 seconds the multirow select is deselected and only one remains selected…. I want the user to be able to select multiple rows to be able to fire of a task that does something with each of the selected records… I've tried to get the Refresh behavior to work but after setting the GridEditUpdateUsingRefreshOption extended property in the SF > I still cannot see the refresh behavior for the actions After insert, After copy, After update, and After delete Can someone point me in the correct direction?
Currently the Change Filters-process action works with static values and ‘Equals’, as stated in the documentation: The filter value that must be set on the column in question as an equal to filter condition. This parameter is present for every column of the subject. It would be nice if there are more options, like ‘is not empty’, ‘starts with’ etc, just like the normal Filter function.
Hi everyone! We’ve released the following platform improvements this week: SF - 2024.3, 2025.1 20250611 - Removed temporal clean-up When the system flow responsible for clean-up of the Software Factory would be abandoned by Indicium (due to a reboot) or fail (loss of connection), the Software Factory database could end up in an unusable state where a temporal table would not be linked properly to its history table. This would in turn prevent merge sessions, history overviews and data migration set-up from working properly. We've turned off this functionality for now and will re-enable this once we can guarantee the robustness of this clean-up process.
I am working with a grid where auto-edit is applied. In the documentation (https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/sf/process_flows_actions#add-row) it says the ‘add row’ process flow action should not be triggered, but it does when the row is added by pressing enter when the cursor is at the last column of the grid. Is this a bug? I would like the process action to be triggered when the row is added regardless, but I believe that should not happen as is explained in the documentation. What is the intended behavior here? And is there another way to trigger a process flow action when a row is added on an auto-edit grid?
I'm looking at public API calls.. can I require a select or set it so that API call with select criteria returns no data?
