Propose your fantastic ideas regarding the Thinkwise Platform to our Product Team.
The Software Factory generates different translation objects for columns and report/task parameters. Often I would like these to have the same translation. Currently I have to manually copy the translation from my column into the task or report parameter. It would be great if you would have an option in the translation screen to copy the translation from a different translation object type. For example, have to option to copy the column translation for my task parameter. Obviously, the parameter name and column name should match for this feature to work.Column employee_id has translation Employee. Task parameter employee_id has no translation. This new task will copy the translation from column employee_id to task parameter employee_id.
It is possible to create a custom constraint on a table, so you can add specific checks without having to create a trigger. The message can be created with a dynamic model procedure like this:insert into #msg( msg_id ,msg_description ,msg_location_id ,severity ,msg_error_code ,msg_regular_expression )select 'err_check_constraint_' + tcc.check_constraint_id as msg_id , 'Translation for check constraint error: ' + tcc.check_constraint_id as msg_description , 'popup' as msg_location_id , 0 as severity --error , 547 as msg_error_code --error code when check constraint fails , '.*"' + tcc.check_constraint_id + '".*' as msg_regular_expression --regex that will find the specific constraint from tab_check_constraint tcc where tcc.model_id = @model_id and tcc.branch_id = @branch_id and tcc.generated_by_control_proc_id is null --only manual Then, you have to search in generated translation objects, or the message, with the name of the constraint in it. It would be very helpful, when you can translate the message as a detail of the constraint, just like you can do this on for example a column. The trick now, that it is not a translation, but a message with a translation. The idea is, that this message object is automatically generated, and that it is available on the constraint as a detail, so you can directly translate it. You need this, don't you?
On a few occasions we use the history table to calculatie timings and would like to add an index to the history table for improved performance.
As a follow up on this conversation: it would be great if there would be a simple way to create multiple custom login screens for the same Application and Infrastructure. This way we could differentiate login flows for different ‘types’ of users in our organization (as a direct customer of Thinkwise), for example:Internal users with Azure AD account are automatically redirected to the Microsoft login screen, specific for our Tenant in order to ensure our MFA/Conditional Access policies Internal users without an Azure AD account are automatically redirected to the Local login screen External users with a generic registration at Microsoft / Google are automatically redirected to the login screen with both Microsoft (common) and Google as login optionsIn addition, I believe this could be of great added value for ISV's as well, whereby they can offer their customers the ability to use a tailored Login screen and use their customer-specific OpenID provider.Having to run multiple IAM databases kinda destroys the idea of Intelligent (centralized) user/Application Management and is overkill for such a relatively small-scoped feature.
In Grid row height in Universal differs | Thinkwise Community Erwin explained that a smaller grid row height (for example 22px) will be overruled when it is possible to edit in grid because the editor needs the room. This is really unwanted behaviour because it prevent us in showing better data densities in our applications. So please make it possible to use smaller grid heights when edit in grid is enabled. It would be fine if just the row that is being added/edited temporary grows in size for the editor functionality to function properly.
We need to set a global setting to set the header label to stay small and not to move to the location where the field is. Similar to having a field with an empty value (not a NULL value).
This Idea is more or less a follow up on the Idea regarding the Universal GUI zoom. The Compact mode has significantly improved the ability to properly work with the Universal GUI, however it is still a challenge to display a sufficient amount of data on a single screen in the Universal GUI for a data-rich ERP system, due to the large amount of white-space/padding/… around both Grid and Form controls. The Universal GUI Forecast has planned something for reducing the Grid line height and font size, but I would like to argue that the width of the Grid columns could be reduced as well.Grid line height and font size settingsThis will allow for custom settings for the grid line and font sizes. These settings are only used by compact mode for this first iteration! In addition to Grid changes, this Idea aims for similar reductions on Forms and potentially other Screen Types.
I would like the possibility in Universal to make a conditional layout only visible on the form or grid. In the current situation, this always happens in both places, even if you have indicated this in the SF.
As a relatively fresh user of the Thinkwise Platform I am confused by the fact that the terminology ‘Open Documents’ is used as header for something I would describe as 'Open tabs/screens/views/menu-items'. Open Documents to me has to do with files I have open, not some screen within an Enterprise application. Do you believe it's a good idea to change this? Alternatively: is it customizable in our own instance?
As discussed in here: https://community.thinkwisesoftware.com/development-13/expand-collapse-all-items-in-resource-tree-view-resource-scheduler-881 I would like to be able to Expand and Collapse all resource tree view items, just like in a regular tree view.
I want to inform my users of my Thinkwise application there will be downtime because of maintenance. We are using the Windows GUI in combination with Indicium. Suggestion made by Erik Brink - We could think of requesting this information before login from Indicium possibly. (See discussion: https://community.thinkwisesoftware.com/deployment-12/announcing-maintenance-downtime-to-users-1096?postid=3184#post3184)
A number of wishes have been submitted in TCP concerning adding rights to an objects. They indicate that when rights are granted to an object, they must also be granted to its childs. Same goes for revoking these rights. I was able to extract the following situations:Rights for a table should pass on to its columns Rights for a task should pass on to its task parameters Rights for a report should pass on to its report parameters Rights for a menu should pass on to its menu items Rights for a process flow should pass on to its process actionsA number of questions about this wish:What if a new column / task parameter / report parameter / menu item is added after setting up the rights? If you give a table rights because you need a column look-up, you now only get the display. Should this change? Am I still missing situations that should also be taken into account for this wish? Personally, I think that when adding a table task, for example, it is going too far to give rights to both the table with its columns and the task with its parameters. @Jeffrey Tolboom, @Roland van Aggele, @Jaap van Beusekom, @Gijs, @Remco, @Arjan Sollie, @JasperSince you have reported a wish concerning this topic, I would certainly like to hear your opinion. Other opinions are also of course appreciated.
Make translation object generation in TSF automatic in the background. When creating and modifying objects. This saves application developers a lot of unnecessary clicking and waiting.
We have discovered the new possibilities of Action bars and are now going to apply them more and more in the screens. It is useful that multiple action bars can be used, but we are finding that it would be useful to give action bars a logical name. For example toolbar_grid_top, toolbar_grid_bottom, toolbar_form, etc.. Could a rename task be added for this?
Dear all, We identified that there is no posibility to execute a task on empty timecell by double clicking. Scenario: A user upon double clicking on an empty timecell to execute a connected Task. Thanks
It would be great if the Maps component supports a Task to add a Marker. We would expect this Task to be triggered by double-clicking on a position on the Maps component, which should then automatically retrieve the longitude/latitude of the clicked location on the Map. This feature could be similar to the Task on the Resource Scheduler with which we can add new Activities on the Resource Scheduler component.
