Table task parameter change order of the columnsCompleted

In the table task parameter screen the order is column and then task parameter. I think it makes more sense to set a value to the parameter, instead of choosing a column to assign to the parameter. The parameter list is a shorter list to work with and if you use correct naming the column is selected automatically. Therefor i propose to change the order of the columns. first task parameter then column.

I would like to see the added/active functionality of a subject, added in the menu item ‘Subjects’, to see what scripts are active for this subject.

In the Windows GUI a user can - when focused on a grid - use “CTRL + A” to select all records. I would like to have this also possible in the Web GUI.

360° product view supportOpen

Got an idea the other day to support a 360° view of photos. This would greatly benefit the software in my opinion. Let start off with what I mean:   360° photo viewer (Purely to illustrate)This is a series of photos that rapidly get presented to the user upon dragging to the left or right. In practice this could be used in factories for designing and checking products but it can also be used in shops to show customers the product in a 360° view. One way to implement this from what I found is this way:  Not sure if this will be the final way of doing it but it gives an idea.

Add option to also run validations for previous projectClosed

A very helpful option is the "new in this version” filter on the validations screen. However, if you did not run the validations on the previous project this filter does nothing.  Now I first have to go to my previous project (which is hidden behind a filter), run validations, then return to my original version and now the prefilter works.  What would be very helpful if there was a task: run validations including previous project.

Rename start merge session to create merge sessionCompleted

In my opinion the merge session screen could be much more intuitive if the start merge session task was renamed to create merge session. If you are not familiar with this screen, or you do not use it regularly then the start and execute tasks are very confusing (since they imply to do the same thing).

Validation for invalid domain namesMerged

As a developer you have a lot of freedom when creating domains for your project. You can choose any name you like. Herein lies a tricky situation however. The developer can also create domains, with a name the same as default data types on the RDBMS, resulting in errors when deploying the model. At the moment there are no default validations for these kind of easy mistakes, so rookie developers can create these invalid domains and don't know why they are not allowed. To make the Software Factory as easy to use as can be, it would be beneficial to included these validations.

New Process action - Extract plain text from PDF filesOpen

With many PDF documents it is possible to extract the content as plain text. This makes it possible to thoroughly automate certain document flows. This would be a welcome addition to process flows. Or perhaps it is possible to extend the existing 'Read file' action with this option.

Disable detail tabs when master record does not existCompleted

For example, in SF the tab 'Table task parameters' should be disabled or hidden, as long as no 'Table task' record exists. I know, that in end user applications this can be achieved with a context procedure, but I believe this is generic logic.

Auto-refresh on specific columns of subjectOpen

Currently auto-refresh refreshes the whole subject it was turned on for. In my case I only use the auto-refresh option to show the user the active/up-to-date status of a row. Luckily it's not a very long list or anything so the refresh is very quick. It would be preferred, also performance-wise, to have a sort of partial auto-refresh where only a single column or multiple columns get refreshed.  What do you think of the idea?

IAM - Order Project version selection from new to oldCompleted

When I copy an existing application to a new one I have to select a new project version. Upon opening the combo box I see that the project versions are ordered oldest to newest. I do think it would be better to order it from newest to oldest. So in my case, 1.16 would be on the top and 1.08 on the bottom.   Ordered old project vrs to new project vrs

Hide 'Ok' button in look upOpen

When we open a look-up we get to see the option ‘Ok’ while there won’t ever be a moment we can use that button when in non-edit mode. We would like to see the button hidden.

Add a checkbox to the software factory reference popup to set the reference as No CheckOpen

The option no-check on references is something that we could use when applying a reference on a table that contains historic data from a old-application. For example you can only migrate the headings of invoices to the new system but no invoice lines. You do want that new invoices created in the system you are creating has a check constraint that is validated. But for old-data you want it not to apply. For this reason SQL implemented the No Check option on references…  What i would like to see is a checkbox on the reference box where you can set the reference to be as a No Check reference.  Why do i want this? Well i've seen many projects where people just toggle of the Integrity check on the reference. But do not consider that database could get corrupted when something goes wrong. Fixing missing data is harder dan solving the problem when the check constraint gives an error.

Update on status change of idea'sClosed

Currently when an idea, which I have submitted, undergo's a status change, I'm not informed about this status change. Personally, I would prefer to receive a notification of this status change. Is it possible to configure the community so that a user, like myself, receives a status update when an idea's, or its status, is changed? If this is not currently possible, it would be of great help to add this feature.

Overview of hotfixes in Docs or TCPClosed

Could a page with an overview of all hotfixes be added to the documentation portal or TCP? Now the only way to determine if hotfixes are all installed is to download the complete set from TCP and compare it with the records of the table hotfix.

Using the functionality weaver for expression fieldsDeclined

The functionality weaver offers a lot of benefits for writing and maintaining code:Offering dynamic weaving. Code history. Code review and managing who wrote which code. Validation while executing the query on the database. Changing code without syncing to IAM.These benefits do not apply for expression fields. Expression fields are widely used but the support for maintaining them is very limited.My idea for expression fields 2.0 is as follows:New codegroup and program object type: EXPRESSIONS. New type of program object: EXPRESSION. Naming: exp_<table_name)_<col_name>. For every program object of type EXPRESSION a function is generated. PK colums are given as parameters to this function. Templates are used with these parameters to return a value.  The GUI executes the function instead of the expression query specified on the column. The expression field query on table “col” is no longer needed and can be discarded since calculated_field_type = expression generates a program object.Let me know what you guys think.

'Create project version' could be more user friendlyCompleted

A new Thinkwise developer was creating his first project, using the e-learning. After deploying his datamodel and making a few changes in the User interface he wanted to create a new project version. Sadly here it went wrong.  He used the Task ‘Create project version’ instead of ‘Copy project version’, expecting it to create a new version of his project. After a while he found out that all his work was gone and didn't knew what caused it. Maybe we should rename the task or make it a bit more clear that it is used for creating a new empty project version. This is not something you are not going to do many times, during development.  Any suggestions?

Ability to assign parameter text to Task confirmation messageClosed

I use a confirmation message on a delete task in my application to inform the user that the delete will delete every underlying record of the record that the user tries to delete. When validation my application I see the validation 'Task confirmation message without parameters’ and tell me the following:  ‘The user does not get any indication what the task will do when he is asked to confirm or decline the task. Add a message (with parameters in the translation).’ The only problem is that I can't select any value for the parameter if I would use one, so I'm left with approving this validation to make it go away. If I could select a column in the Task screen in the Software Factory that would be given to the message as parameter, that would make me able to make the message more specific and more informative to the user. Then I could change 'Do you want to delete this record and all underlying records’ to 'Do you want to delete  and all underlying records’ with being the value of the column selected in the Software Factory.

Refresh subject after finishing task that runs in the backgroundOpen

Either with use of the process flow or standard functionality I would like to be see my subject refreshed after a background task (task with Await result = No) has been finished. Currently I have no other option than to refresh the screen myself or put in an automatic refresh; both not ideal. The task is updating statuses and I would like to be able to see the progress in real-time without user interaction. Maybe introduce even a tsf_send_refresh function?

Indicium empty columnCompleted

When you request something from indicium (ie a table or subroutine) and a column is empty, then indicium will not send the column with the respond. It would be nice if there is a setting per request if you want the empty columns to be sent or to be hidden.

Change the Prefilter column filter condition standard to equal toCompleted

Currently when creating a prefilter the standard filter condition for a prefilter column is contains. I think it makes more sense to make the standard equal to. Since most times you want to filter based off a domain value. And also the contains has bigger implications on performance and should therefor not be the standard.

Ability to change splashscreen progress bar colorCompleted

I would like to be able to change the color of the progressbar. Currently it's always Thinkwise-blue, but when designing a custom splash screen for a customer this blue isn't always the best option. Being able to adjust this color from within the IAM would be a nice improvement!

Filter in tree componentMerged

Currently when user uses a filter within our tree component, the GUI will only display rows matching the filter value. I would like to tree component to display all the parents of the row matching the filter value and the rows matching the filter value, instead of only displaying the rows matching the filter value.

Connect conditional layout condition & prefilters to domain elementsOpen

Currently I use conditional layout on a Status column and if for some reason I change my domain element database values, I have to change the conditional layout conditions too.   So I got the thought, why can’t we connect it straight to a domain element? My column import_message_status has a same-called domain with elements for each status. If I could select an element of this column's domain, that would mean any changes in the domain will also affect the conditional layout condition.  Example: Let say if I change the Done status from value 5 to 6, I only need to change it at the domain elements and the conditional layout condition will read that value over there instead of I need to change it at all places where I name the status column in conditional layouts.  Implementation suggestion: Column determines which domain. Type of value: (Domain) Element Value: Lookup to select which element of the column's domain In code, a join/a subquery is used to get the right db value of the chosen element

Process flow code functionality visible in designerMerged

We can use functionality to influence decisions in a proces flow, but from the designer it is not visible that a code template is assigned to a process step. I'd like it if a symbol was there to indicate an assigned code template. Generated symbol in a process step (quick and dirty mock-up)
