Currently Universal loads all data from the table or view that the user has access to, regardless if the data is shown in the table or not. In our experience this massively increases the load on the database, not only when using views that have logic and many sources in them but especially when you have a table/view that has many relations with other tables with lookups defined. Every lookup creates a join or an apply. We even ran into situations where the query became so complicated that compiling the query by the SQL engine was taking multiple seconds (4+) while if I take the query thats been generated by Incidium and alter it to only include the columns that are actually shown the compilation only takes about half a second. The plan is barely cached due to parameters + the fetch offset being used in the front end. I can supply TW with example query thats been generated and my altered version if requested. Suggestion:Only load the actual data being shown instead of the entire row(s)
Hi,For debugging purposes I would like to see all actions of all users in the database event log/indicium log. When Indicium is set to DEBUG logging, it still not shows all users / actions (if i'm correct!). If I log in myself, I will see some actions under my own user. but I don't see anything from other users. This makes it sometimes a bit difficult. Indicium log also displays the time queries take; that is also very useful. This is currently not a feature, but might be a nice to have! Blommetje
I like to know how often various screens, tasks and reports are opened or executed by users. The action log is suitable for this, but how to activate this is not clear. We found out that the option 'Recommendations’ can be set to activate logging per Configuration. More specific setting options, per user and per object are desirable.
System flows are now running at UTC time. With this behaviour it’s not (easily) possible to run a system flow on a fixed time in a specific timezone f.e. at 00:00:10 at Amsterdam time, even if there is a switch from or to the Dailight saving time period. (Summertime/Wintertime) I would think of a parameter where you can choose the timezone. If you choose UTC it runs like it does now. If you put it on Amsterdam It follows the Amsterdam time zone. There is a system flow log so during the switch to wintertime (Where the time is reset to 1 hour earlier) the system can check this log if it has already run for that specific moment, preventing it runs twice in that specific )switchover night)
As discussed in: Influence numeric decimal separator display format | Thinkwise Community the current behaviour of the Universal GUI is that it takes the localization settings like decimal/thousand separator and date display formatting (as well as first day of week in the date picker) from the first preferred browser language. This is not ideal, because this way the localization settings are bound to a language while users might want to have English as their preferred language, but use their local localization settings. Therefor we would like a possibility to setup localization settings as user preference in IAM (not bound to the language setting in IAM).
I the SF you can define multiple schedules for 1 system flow. F.e. 1 runs every day at 00:01 and 1 runs every hour on 04:00.However you’re able to define 2 schedules, only 1 schedule can be active. I would suggest the idea to have multiple schedules active. Of course it’ll need some checks to prevent running them on the same moment, but that should be doable.
When I used to search in the WindowsGUI Software Factory, I could search ‘sub’, click Subjects and the menu would open back up since the searchfield in the menu got cleared after searching. This was very useful when you need to navigate quickly through the Software Factory.Unfortunately this is handeled differently in the UniversalGUI Software Factory and I now need to manually clear my search everytime I want to be able to open another document.
I really like the dark mode in Microsoft's Office products, SQL Management Studio, the Universal GUI and macOS. Since major software vendors are integrating a dark mode, and because it's easy on the eyes in certain environments, I'd like to be able to launch the Software Factory and IAM with a dark mode too.
It would be nice if the height of a row in the grid adjusts to the contents of specific columns, especially useful when wrapping text in multiline grid fields.
Subflows are a great addition to the Platform in order to re-use parts of a Process Flow, instead of having to model the same set of Process Actions in multiple Process Flows. Subflows improve the re-usability of components, therefore we are eager to use this concept in regular Process Flows too!Can this functionality be extended to be available not only for System Flows, but also for regular Process Flows?
The Thinkwise platform currently supports SQL Server, Oracle and DB2, three widely used RDBMS. According to Statista, they are indeed quite a popular choice and suited for large enterprise-level applications we make with Thinkwise.PostgreSQL (Postgres) is a open source RDBMS unlike the others, that there are no license fees, is highly extensible, and is used over all the world, even by major companies.I would love to see the interest by the Community for the Thinkwise platform to support PostgreSQL.
A simple idea, but we’ve encountered a situation where a model tag for web connections could be useful. In our situation, we’ve defined tags in the description of the web connection endpoint and in the description of its input parameters. I can imagine that having tags available at all detail levels could also be useful in the future.
On subjects with many tasks, it is hard for the user to find the right task in the universal GUI. It is also impossible to show the tasks with name on the screen because it will never fit (and we don't want to put alsmost everything in the overflow menu).Adding a task group doesn’t really help since it only creates a splitter. Please add support for task-group sub menu to the universal GUI so that we can create a drop down with tasks. Example (this subject even has more tasks in the overflow menu and hidden by context):
When creating DEV/ACC applications in the IAM, it’s mainly a copy of already existing applications to have the authorizations already in place. As we usually have the (in our case the 2) ‘default application’ on the top, it would like to keep them at the top and newly added applications should always be on the bottom.Suggestion to do a MAX on the 'order_no’ and add 10 to it in the default when copying the application.
Within Thinkwise, when the “start empty with filter” option is enabled in the Subject menu, the Windows GUI shows an empty screen when opening the form and immediately displays a popup with filter options.I am currently working for a customer who would like this behavior as well. In the old application, it works exactly the same as in the Windows GUI.I would like this to work in the same way in Universal: opening the screen should immediately show the filter popup. If this is not possible, I would like to have a process flow action available that can open/activate the filter popup.
Could the user who triggered the query be added to the slow query log in IAM please? This would help when a specific user complains about performance so you could zoom in on his/her queries only.
At this moment Excel style filters are not available on all columns. Using the normal filter is an option, but takes much more time for the user to set. Please make this available ASAP (MoSCoW - should) Also for other type of fields (not checkbox, date)Priority order: checkbox, combo box, date, other
I would like so see support in the Universal for popup sizing.Minimal width of the popup Maximum width of the popup (now it sizes to the full with of the page, word-wrap should kick in earlier based on a setting) When you have multiple columns, relative occupation could be set (% per column, to a total of 100%)
A number of my clients have asked me if it is possible to make the size of the pop-up screens bigger. I understand that this is not yet the case. So now they must click on the https://maximize button. It would be nice to have the possibility to size the pop-up screen in the SF.
