When using “Change Filter” in a process flow it always reverts to “Equals”, it would be more useful if the filter condition could be changed, to “Contains” for instance. Also, the Docs article on the subject contradicts itself on this matter:Filter values on columns of a specific subject can be set with this process action. It can be indicated for each column which filter condition and which filter value must be used. However: The filter value that must be set on the column in question as an equal to filter condition. This parameter is present for every column of the subject.
When a SQL error occurs in universal you sometimes get a link to the database event log and the live error log. The live error log shows the error, the database event log shows the initial request with a copy statement option. The live error log does not include this copy statement option, which makes sense because this is just a raw error output. However for trouble shooting please add a link to the database event log entry in the error log, so you can copy the code there. live error log: database event log:
Dear all,We have identified that the groupping of records for the scheduler can be configured only by 1 column and it is not possible to have more than 1 currently. The idea is to be able to specify the groupping level and have a Treeview as first column of the defined groups in the scheduler.Similar to what was in WEB GUI:
The database event log shows you which database, type, server etc the request was intended for. The live error log however does not show this information. Especially on a multiple application environment it can be very helpful to have this information. I can imagine the error log works on an application level, so perhaps it would make more sense to show the application name here instead of the database name? But either would provide more insight.
At this moment tooltips are not visible, can that be done? With an inline button, so that it also works on touch devices.
Process flows often requires you to create process flow variables. Currently you can select any process flow variable for the output/input parameter options of a process flow step. There are validations to check if a variable matches the required output format. I propose to limit the available process flow parameters to the allowed data types. For example: you never want to set a bit data type to a file name field. So when choosing the process variable for file name I only want to see text related data types.
I can access the process flow monitor and database eventlog directly from universal. Can we add the error log and the live error log to this as well? This would reduce the number of screens I need to trouble shoot since I don’t have to navigate to indicium to acces the error log.
With the Universal GUI forms are scrollable which is great. However when you want to place a detail tab below a form on a screentype, the form and the detail have their own scrollbar. This limits the viewable space of the form a lot because the detail will be always using the space on a screen which makes it not a good solution in many cases. So what I would like to be able to configure is a form with one or more details below that has one combined scrollbar. And it would be even better if it could work like the tab pages of a form so that you can collapse each detail. This way you could for example create a sales order form with the sales order lines directly below without having to worry about enough visible space for both the form and the lines. While I see the best use case as a form with detail(s) below, maybe this could even be made more generic as a vertical-scrollbar-container screencomponent so that you could create one container detail page which has several (collapsible) details combined with one scrollbar.Maybe a max height could be configured at the reference for each collapsible detail so that in case of a big list it will not become too large (this would mean the page has it’s combined scrollbar and the detail also has one itself, similar to how Microsoft SQL Management Studio shows results from multiple queries).Sidenote: I think this should only work with a vertical scrollbar since most users are not really accustomed to scroll horizontally. Inspiration screenshot of how something similar works in Netsuite:
Hey Community, For our partner were looking for an easy way to convey more guiding information on how to use the application. One part of the application is for external use and has to be focused on the usability. What would help us immensely is the ability to create information buttons where we can put the extra information about a field when the label just isn’t enough. An example on how we would like to see said button is presented in the image below:Would love to hear your ideas on this topic. With kind regards,Jeffrey
A question I am getting more often of my clients is whether the Software Factory support an information text field. This is a field that contains an informative message for the users.Currently the Software Factory only supports these message in tooltips and Helptexts. But often you would like to set up a text to inform users. This text should be displayed on a specific position on the form. It is kind of like a regular. However this field does not have to be stored in the database. And it should only display a text (HTML text). So it is kind of a HTML field. Currently you can set up an expression field and insert a hardcoded HTML code in this field. But often you would like this field to show a text based on the language of the specific user.Therefor it would a great feature if the Software Factory offers a field that will display a label and the content of the field, which is an HTML text that can be configured in the translations part of the Software Factory. This will allow you to configure a specific text in the correct language.
When adding new columns you also have to set up data migration. There is however no indication in this screen which columns are mandatory or what the domain type is. Adding a column to show the mandatory status and domain type would make this screen easier to use without the need to switch between data model and data migration.
For Protocol-independent system flows we need a more easy way to for making multi purpose API ‘s that can respond with Text or Binary variables. For example to create a single API that can respond with text format like XML and JSON as well as with PDF and XLSX.
As it works in the Windows GUI, it would be very helpful for users if groups & items can be ordered on the most efficient way instead of forcing groups to be set last within a group.
IdeaMy idea is to be able to provide a ‘URL display column’ for a URL column in the SF, using another column from the same table as the display text. This could optionally be an expression column. This will ensure that URLs are displayed in a more user-friendly way and/or take up less space on the screen.Explanation / current situationWe have the 'URL' control for domains, which opens a URL in the active browser using a hyperlink. This works well, but often, you don't want to display the full URL. This could be because the original URL provides little meaningful information to the user or because it takes up too much space in your form or grid. One way to achieve this now is by creating an expression column that determines the desired display format, but this is more of a workaround than an ideal solution.
When double clicking on a row in a detail, you now will open a new main document with that detail. Sometimes it is useful when this new document becomes floating, so one can check some data on this document and the original document. To help the user minimise mouse clicking, we would like the document to be floating directly.I suggest to make this option configurable in the model, so the developer can configure on a subject how the zoom action will be performed. For now it is a hard way to model this:for each detail one would like to have this functionality is needed:a task containing the primary key of the subject, add it as a table task, with double click on record “on”a process flow, with the tab task as starting point. A process action opening the document required, and a process action to filter the new document to the requested primary keyAlso, the main screen type of the subject should be the zoom screen type, in order to get the result needed. One even might have to create a variant on the subject to use the right screen type.
It is annoying that the filter pop-up is immediately closed when changing a prefilter that is part of an "OR" group. This problem mainly occurs on small devices, where filters must be set with a pop-up.I can imagine that it is difficult to come up with an intuitive solution for this. It might be an idea to add an 'Apply' button in those cases.
If you want to select multiple filters via the overflow of the (custom) action bar, you have to open the filter for each selection. Would be better if the filter stays open till you click somewhere outside the pop-up
Hi. In the Universal GUI when you say in the SF to put something in the next tab it creates a new section. To have the same experience as putting something in the the next tab.. it would be nice have a section collapsable, so by default it doesn't clutter the screen and you can just fold it open when you want to see these details. And perhaps it can come with an extra setting to have only one section open at the time or multiple.. just like with pre-filters where you can have only one or more.
Hello everyone,We have a process flow that pops up a window. This window is very small and should be larger when it pops up.We can set the default window size of all windows and pop ups in the software factory, but we do not want all windows and pop ups in the entire application to be the same size when we set it for the purpose of one window. Can this be set per window when you select the pop up option in a process flow for opening a document? When this option in this process action is set to "Yes” it would be nice to have an option to set the size of this floating document, so we do not have to set a general size for all windows and pop ups, because in come cases this can be unwanted.
