HTML embedding for splash screen background

Can you help as a bit more? The description is a bit sparce and doesn't give us any context of what problem your users encounter that you want to tackle. This takes away our abilities to think with you. Can you elaborate why your users need data on the menu splash screen?

Hello,

The users wish to see various data such as the application version number on the main menu, similar to the image attached below. This workaround was achieved by manually typing the version number in the content of an after element on screen in the custom.css file. Our suggestion was similar to embedding HTML or having the option to add components to the main menu screen.

Why do you want to solve this with HTML embedding in a splash screen background? It seems to me that you are trying to achieve something like a dashboard. 

Why do you want to use the background for this? I have my doubts whether things like refreshing that background are optimal suited for this concept.

Correct, it is something like a dashboard. ​@Marius Korff ‘s post mentioned above regarding the global variables is indeed very similar to what we want to achieve. The background solution was simply an idea and it also relates to the wish for having more customization options for the background. However, if such global variables can be indeed displayed somewhere in the header or background in other manners, we would be interested.
