If I open the Universal GUI (2021.1.12) and IAM is the top most application it automatically switches to dark mode. The dark mode then also applies for other applications. It also applies for the next login session. Why is this, and how can I disable it? This is very annoying. The login dialog is the next time also in dark mode, which is very confusing for some end users.

Hi René,

Our Universal GUI team has an User story for remembering the Light/Dark mode and applying this over all applications. This will mean that if you set Dark mode on, the other applications also will open in Dark mode. This will prevent sudden Dark to Light or Light to Dark switches. This will also work if you log out and back in. This User story is not planned yet but it has a chance to be implemented with the next spint (subject to change)

For now, the GUI will listen to the Default theme set in the Theme that is applied to the opened application. The IAM application will always turn to Dark mode the first time the application is opened. In IAM → Applications, if you want another application to open initially, set the Sequence no of that application lower than 10; IAM application has sequence no = 10

Hope this gives some clarity.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the answer. It's not only when opening when IAM is top most, but also when you open IAM (switching between applications), it suddenly changes to dark mode. And then it keeps / applies the dark mode for the other applications as well. I think the user story fits our needs 🙂. Most of our end users won't see IAM, but those who do, will be confronted with the dark mode. As mentioned earlier before we want to introduce the dark mode later (or not at all, that is undecided).

Br, René

The User story has been planned for Sprint 38 → Beta release on March 12th, official release on March 19th
