Announcing maintenance (=Downtime) to users

Forum|alt.badge.img+7

Hello,

I want to inform my users of my Thinkwise application there will be downtime because of maintenance. We are using the Windows GUI in combination with Indicium.

In what way can i inform my customers?

Eric

We could think of requesting this information before login from Indicium possibly.

Would you please send in a community idea to accomplish this wish?

Normally I would suggest you to use application settings "startupprocedure” or "shutdownprocedure", calling a stored procedure defined on the end product database. Unfortunately, the Windows GUI doesn't support that settings yet connection to the database through Indicium.

Maybe someone else has an alternative idea for this?

If you are looking for a long term solution you might consider setting up startup page in the end product that you enforce through IAM, which opens up as a sort of landing page where you can inform users.

We’re also interested in some kind of announcement of ‘maintenance’, but then in the Web GUI. I’ve noticed TCP also has a little message:

Is this done manually?

Hi René

That message is indeed done manually in IAM, it only shows up in the Web GUI though
