Form requirement - is it possible toe remove the new column for the field Sequence (Position) so that the field are over 2 colums instead of 3 so there is more space for the trees on the left.

I understand your wish, but it has more consequences than you might think. Keep in mind that implementing this would also mean that the width of all tabs (see screenshot) will become narrower, such as the designer where you often need the space.

I understand, but is is in line with the requirement tab. A designer can tak more space.
