Why are all indexes rebuilt during a smart upgrade

@Mark Jongeling Yes. For this application it was the first time we installed a new release with version 2023.3 of the SF (using smart upgrade). So the next time(s) it wil be a reduced set of indexes, depending on changed tables I guess?If so, then never mind my question….

Notification entries in IAM

@Mark Jongeling Ok, thanks for the links to the documentation articles, but we are on version 2023.1 (so no option to select what kind of notification to send yet). But still, where in the universal GUI can I see that a notification is present? The queue is read / cleared by a process, but I can't find where the message went...

@Mark Jongeling Why not also adding information like browser version, client OS (if possible), date/time.And a copy to clipboard as text (task / button )…. Hi Henri, I think we need to fix this in our runtime components, so can you please submit a ticket for it? Please note that it is generally not recommended to use time fields in a key, due to possible rounding differences when converting between different formats and/or programming language datatypes. We strongly recommend using a surrogate key (identity) in combination with a unique index on the semantic key instead. You're right, but this is how I get things from the supplier and I want to keep the “keys” similar, to avoid duplicate processing of data… We get the information delivered as a CSV file from the German MAUT instance..However… For the date part I got it fixed (i think) by supplying datetimeoffset in the xml query:Thanks so far.. When the time part is fixed I certainly will add that as well. For now the date is “unique enough” ;-)I will supply a ticket for this issue ( especially the time format is something I'd like to see in a normal format )

Hi Arjan, long time no see Not sure if I understand the problem (is the field in a form or in a grid), but would this work:Add another field with the same value (if it is a view, otherwise an expression field and have it available in layout procedures) Use the same lookup information, but disable “Lookup has popup” Hide the field when navigating and only show it using the layout procedure when adding/editing Only show the new field in the grid (if the grid is editable)

@Harm Horstman ,Agreed, but it should be configurable in the Extender properties. So the programmer can decide whether to have the map fitted or not.

@René W I'm not sure if a http(s) connector works for soap services…. I could give it a try for this particular one, but some of the requests will have to be scheduled, and I don't think process flows work outside the GUI… Or do they?

Call context procedure when adding a recordOpen

In hindsight, the context is not the problem; perhaps a better solution is a change in the GUI. Now all tasks are disabled by the GUI when adding a record, as far as I can tell. When a new field is added in SF table tab_task (allow when adding record), such a task could stay enabled (the programmer should of course know why and what the underlying idea of the task is).

Any change this will be available in a (near) future release, as it is requested a year ago but even an influential person like @Anne Buit has voted for this idea… My company is also longing for this kind of functionality in the GUI...

@Mark Jongeling No, I didn't…… Haven seen that one before (or didn't need it so far). But I'll sure give it a go right now, But this “idea” can stay open for voting. For instance: it would be great have a application wide currency sign be configurable in (ini) settings or be based upon company settings in a project. And/or other Excel like formatting possibilities.

Ah, clear… I alway used to use the <Tab> key in forms…. I'll swiftly change my method or approach… Regarding Universal… Let's hope similar functionality is preserved, either with <Enter> or with <Tab>..

@Anne Buit i've been busy with other stuff, but just to let you know. I've changed things back to my earlier workaround. The view and table_valued solution both were more or less similar performance wise. But the view is also used in other views that performed drasticly poorer with the table_valued solution! Change from one record to another, where the view in question is a detail tab went from 1 second to 10 or more seconds. So no way this is what'll be accepted by the enduser. So a possibility to configure a setting in the SF will be much appreciated!

Thanks @Anne Buit , I got your workaround figured out and working. Initially I wanted maxrecursion as a parameter in the subroutine, but it’s not allowed to have a parameter in the maxrecursion option. That also can be worked around, but I'll leave it at this. The tablename in the subroutine can be anything (doesn't need to exist in the project, just needs to be there for the subroutine to return a named table). For now I just hardcode the number for maxrecursion at a number high enough for the next couple of years… Your workaround results in more or less the same as my workaround (3 unions to get to a maximum of 300 rows) but it sure is easier to figure out what is happening in the code…. Performance wise I don't see any noticeable difference. As you mentions, it's another workaround to the stricktness of sqlserver and I hope a setting will be added in the SF as it comes to views and to have the GUI add the maxrecursion information when doing a query on the view in question..

@Erik Brink , If that's really the case (I mean multiple installations of the WebGUI results in better performance), then using a script to scrap everything exept a few directories and settings.ini and web.config could work… Oh, and copying a few marker icons that are not in the normal package.… But i.m.h.o. it's a bit overkill to have 5 or 6 installations, where 4 of 5 of them are only for a few users, to give them the idea they are looking at a complete other application/company...

@Anne Buit I'll forward it to my collegues….. If they want custom code and don't worry about the costs we'll contact Service & Care… But I expect a refund or a reward for my Idea when it's built into the GUI in the “near” future…. . .

Can anyone tell me whether this can be expected in the GUI in the near future? Again a customer has asked for this functionality and again I'll have to tell them that it sounds like a great idea and leave it at that… If we can forget this functionality in the GUI we have to look at alternative solutions to keep the customer satisfied…..
