Which tool(s) do you use for creating user documentation?

​@PeterKeeris I assume you’re mostly interested in tools that other members of the Community use for their applications. But let me give a bit of input about options I am aware of:

• First of all, most likely we will bring a basic version of the F1 Help function known in the Windows GUI to the Universal UI as well: Help | Thinkwise Documentation
• Second of all, at Wagenborg we used to use a Dynamically assigned Help task that would appear on a Subject if a specific SharePoint page was created for it (and added to a Subject <> SharePoint link table within the Application).
• It seems another customer is doing something similar as well: Know the context of the table and variant when starting a table task | Thinkwise Community. I know they have been looking into Pendo as well, but it seems they haven’t moved forward with that option. Sounds like an interesting combination of User guidance and Analytics though: Product Experience & Analytics Platform | Pendo
• I know one of our customers uses Toonimo – Digital Adoption, Amplified, which proves pretty easy to link to the data-testId’s that are available all across the Application. Similar solutions you could consider are:

  • Command AI: Command AI | AI-powered user assistance
  • Joyride: open source option, relatively more complicated to setup compared to paid alternatives: React Joyride Demo
