What could be causing the Captcha entry to keep repeating when using the "Forgot Password" link?

As a result, users are unable to create a new password.

I am not able to reproduce this. What captcha noise setting do you use?


No idea, I didn't know there is a captcha noise setting.

It is more the two weeks ago when the problem popped up, I forgot which environment it was.

We couldn't wait so we have changed the password for the end user in IAM.

I now know what happened. If you try to change the password for a user with the 'Password / Allow Change' option unchecked, the question keeps repeating itself.

In this case, a message should appear stating that the password cannot be changed.


Tried this, also not reproduceable. Are you on the latest web gui? If you can provide more information I can try to reproduce this: 

 

 


I am now using version 2023.1.18 (Web) and the problem still exists.

Cannot check a newer version at this time, I will try later.

I added the extended property ResetPasswordCaptchaNoise = Low to setting.ini

This is working, but now we have another problem, because following error message appears:

Failed to send the "Validation code” by mail.  Why? SMTP settings are validated.
