Hi,

When viewing a PDF in Universal it is possible to create annotations like marking, drawing and adding text. As far as I can see the only way to obtain the annotated version of the document is to download it (manually) and then to upload it again to store it in a Thinkwise defined storage location.

Is it somehow possible to the download the annotated document and then upload it again from within Thinkwise?

Hey @Robert Wijn 2 ,

Have you already tried to create a process flow for this? Within the available process actions there are a few file connector options, include the move file process action. Perhaps this allows you to move the annotated file to a different, desired location.

More information on this can be found here: https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/sf/process_flows_file_and_folder_connectors#move-file

Let me know if this works, or if there are any additional questions 😄

Kind regards,

Renée

Hi Renée,

The challenge is to get a hold of the annotated version somehow, without having the enduser choose the download button in the viewer, type in some new filename (the presented name is a thinkwise location), store the document and then upload it again.

So after annotating, the annotated version only exists within the viewer. That would be the starting point to implement some kind of solution. The question is then how we can get hold of the annotated viewer version?

Hello,

Unfortunately that is not possible . The changes to the documents are only saved as long as the previewer is open and aren't actually saved in the database or other storage location.

So the way you mentioned, by manually downloading it after annotating and re-uploading it, is the only option you have.

Kind regards,

Renée
