I've noticed that if you use the group-labels on the grid, the No. of fields locked stops working. Is there a reason for this or a bug to be squashed?

This is indeed a bug that has already been reported. So there is no need to file this bug in TCP again, but because of your post we have given this issue a higher priority.

Sadly, our 3th party components don't support this together. So, you must choose between both.
We will check the documentation again to see if something changed yet.
