Hi everyone,
I would like to inform you that we have made a few changes to both the content and structure of this article. I will highlight the most important changes below.
Required idea description
It regularly happens that an idea is described in such a brief or unclear manner that we need to ask for feedback before we can open it up for votes. This is unfortunate, because in addition to requiring extra time from everyone, it also reduces the chances of receiving votes and being implemented, even though it might be a very good idea.
To address this, we will require that the idea description at least meets the following criteria during our assessment:
- Need: What could be improved?
- Use case: When and how often is this needed?
- Suggested solution: How would you like to see this implemented functionality-wise?
As long as this information is not provided, the idea will not be moved to status Open.
Clarified definition for status ‘On the backlog’
On the other hand, we also want to be as transparent as possible with you.
One of the things that did not align well with this was our definition of the status On the backlog, which stated that there was no guarantee of implementation and no clear time frame for when or if progress would be made. This was often seen as a status where the idea seemed to disappear from the radar, with no indication of whether or when anything would happen with it.
We have listened to this feedback. We have updated the definition of this status to indicate that even though implementation is not planned for the near future, you should expect to see progress within 12 months after obtaining this status.
As a result of this clarified definition, we will review and possibly update the status of several ideas, moving them from On the backlog to Open.
