Variable parameters for the Print file (PDF) connector

Related products: Software Factory Indicium Service Tier

hi,

The current (2022.2) Print file (PDF) connector is a very static solution, can you please make the printer name an input parameter where you can assign a process variable? So then we can add printers in our solution model and let the user choose the printer to output the data.

More details in this question:

Thanks!

And please also add some more printer-settings:

  • number of copies
  • tray

And (with a lower priority)

  • color / black & white
  • orientation
  • sorting (keep sets together or first print all the page 1, then 2 etc)
  • stable yes/no

In one of our process flows we choose a printer by reading a user setting via a procedure on the process flow. The process flow branches out to several printers. The procedure chooses one of the branches which then leads to the desired printer.

The same should be possible via a task parameter. Bind this parameter to a process flow parameter and let the value of the latter then decide which printer branch is followed.

We can definitely use the Printer tray option.

Branching out the different printers is nice, but right now we should make a printer driver available for every printer multiplied by the number of trays used..

It needs to have at least the same set of parameters that are currently stored in the reporting service table. Since clients already use these settings for their printing in their applications.

For example a client of mine has a specific printer per employee and per vehicle. There is no way this could be implemented in the Software Factory or IAM.

Hi all,

We have added 11 new input parameters for the Print file process action for platform version 2023.2.

The options of the input parameters are a reflection of what the printing component inside Indicium allows us to configure.

We are very happy with this adjustment!
Can you tell when the 2023.2 release will go live?
