Alternative units for requirements/user stories and work size

In the 2021.1 version of the Software Factory storypoints can be attributed to requirements/user stories and hours to work, which is definitely useful. The flexibility/usability of these elements would however be improved if the units of measure could be freely chosen in a future version.

Hi Maurice,

What units of measure would you like to use for your requirements/user stories and work items?

Hi Jasper,

Preferably one should be able to freely choose these for the specific project (to ensure maximum flexibility for different development practices/methodologies and future developments) as indicated in the idea. Alternatively the ability to specify whether to use story points, hours/days and T-shirt sizes (on both levels) would probably be enough to support most practices.

Hi Maurice,

Are you aware of the possibility to specify your own story point sequence in the Advanced menu under Master data - Specification?

(This is briefly mentioned in the docs.)

Hi Jasper,

Thanks I think I’ve missed this when I initially formulated this idea. The above already gives users some flexibility. I do think it would be a valuable addition if we also implement the additions suggested above.

Unfortunately, this idea has not received enough votes. Because we want to keep the focus on ideas that are in high demand in our Community, we are closing this idea.

Fortunately, we already provide the possibility to specify your own story point sequence in the Advanced menu under Master data - Specification, as mentioned by Jasper.
