A graphical representation in documentation and merge session functionality would help for explaining the choices a user has and the consequences of those choices for merge sessions.

Extending the documentation is already on the backlog by the way.
Available in the documentation at https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/sf/merging#creating-a-branch. As of release 2023.1, it will be available in chapter ‘Models and branches’.
