Corrupt screentypes from old base model

Forum|alt.badge.img+6

Hi,

We face issues after the upgrade to TW 2025.1 with some screen types.
In the past we imported a base model for screen types (> 5 years ago).
But some of these screentypes are now corrupt and giving issues in the validations.

We are not using those screentype any more, but as it is imported from base model, we can’t delete the screentype from the SF. And there is also no option to edit them.

Is there a workaround to get those deleted?

Thanks in advance

Hi HJ,

We introduced validations for these scenarios but the configuration already was wrong before upgrading, but the validations were not there yet.

To resolve these, you can find those screen types in the SF > User interface > Screen types screen, then either use shortkey Ctrl+U or right-click the record and select the Unlink task. This will make sure the object is no longer generated.

After that you can Delete them in the usual way. They will appear again after generating your definition, but that time the screen type's configuration will be correct and they should not cause these error again.

To get control of a generated object, you can use the task ‘Unlink generated object’

Afterwards, you can safely delete the unused screen type. A subsequent generation will reintroduce the proper screen type.
