Universal : Screen type on variant detail behind variant tab

In Universal a tab variant is shown, and a variant of a detail is reachable. The variant detail is displayed by Universal as the screen type on the default table, not as configured on the tab variant.

Is this supposed to work in 2019.2 ?

Yes, it should be. It may be, you have to run some hotfixes on your SF/IAM database for this first.
