Trigger update action of detail

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

Hi,

is it possible to trigger a update action of a detail (2) by clicking on de update of the main screen type (1)? The reason for this is because of some confusion of which update button to click.

Thanks.

@Arie V, I couldn't say that would be a solution due to not knowing the ins-and-outs of your application, but Handlers could be used to Edit the [Object specifiction] and also update something in [Vessel] for example. The handler is a procedure that does all the Add/Edit/Delete that normally the GUI would do and thus it can also Add/Edit/Delete in other tables other than the Edited table.

If Editing the [Object specifiction] and updating something in [Vessel] makes the Edit button on [Vessel]/the main screen obsolete, than indeed Handlers are the solution.

Hi, That is not possible as the Edit buttons are document/screen-specific.

@Mark Jongeling will the Handler procedure functionality that is to be released with Platform 2022.2 release be a solution for this question? Based on your comments in response to that Idea I would actually think so:
