In Universal GUI it is not possible to search on special characters, in Windows GUI this works using the extended property as mentioned in

Can this also be made possible for the Universal GUI?

Hello,

I will be converting this question to an idea, so that it can be added to the Universal backlog for future implementation.

Kind regards,

Renée

@avandervelden The Extended property ‘IgnoreDiacritics’ should in fact work, as stated in the Docs (Extended properties | Thinkwise Documentation) and Indicium Release Notes (Release notes Indicium (2023.2.11) | Thinkwise Community).

What is not working for you?

  • If you want to search with using ü or ç, it should work by default.
  • If you want Indicium/Universal to ignore the diacritics and instead return ‘ü’ or ‘ç’ results when searching on ‘u’ or ‘c’, you should add the Extended property ‘IgnoreDiacritics’ and set the value to ‘Yes’.

@Arie V

That is something we already tried indeed… Unfortunately that is not working in the Universal GUI.

Tested it on versions:

2025.2.12.1.0 &  2025.2.11.2.0

It looks like it is working for the quick search, but not the filter screens.

We use the Control + R filter.

Before filtering:

Filter we use

After filtering:

Result in the windows GUI:

Filter:

After filter:

Ah check, for Filter it is indeed is not implemented. Could you raise a TCP ticket for this issue?

@Arie V

There was a ticket created for this, but that one was cancelled and converted to an idea.

Alright, I reopened the ticket. No need for an Idea for this, we should simply fix this.
