Tuesday february 11th 2025 we upgraded our environment from 2022.2 to 2024.2.

The 2022.2 environment had a valid license until 2025-05-12 as was showing in the indicium log.

After the upgrade (which by the way took about 10 hours to complete!) the application and connected systems proved to be working.

Unfortunately a message popped up regarding the license to be expiring after 7 days. We thought this was due to the missed license update time frame and expected this message (afflicting all users logging in) to be solved the next day.

Unfortunately the messagebox keeps popping up until today. At this moment the counter says 4 days.

Last thursday I already filed an issue in TCP but so far no response. Today I filed a reminder.

To avoid any more time consuming delays I have extensively checked the community today with the following results:

Post regarding automatic license renewal:

  • Application Initialization is installed

License renewal:

https://community.thinkwisesoftware.com/questions-conversations-78/license-renewal-2179?tid=2179&fid=78

  • I have no errors in the log from indicium.
  • App pool recyle does not seem to work.
  • License refresh is scheduled for 2025-02-18 1:37, but license is stating it is failing in 4 days. Does this match ?
  • Settings of the app pool turned out NOT to be set at "start mode --> alwayRunning". This has been corrected. As is the IdleTimeOut setting.
  • But a recyle and iisreset did not initiate anything.

Environment is not registered - license will expire: https://community.thinkwisesoftware.com/questions-conversations-78/environment-is-not-registered-license-will-expire-4732?tid=4732&fid=78

  • No universal GUI (also not necessary, we use windows)
  • Environment is registered.

Yes it might be I am too impatient, but I have no idea what will be the consequences if the license check is not carried out in proper time. I also find the stated license refresh in the log and the actual end date too close to not act urgently on the matter.

A timely response would be appreciated.

Hey Frans,

I believe you can go to the Indicium page, typically https://[server].[com]/indicium, and click on License. In this page (/license), you should be able to obtain a new license without having to wait for Indicium to renew the license. Hope that helps!

Sidenote, the upgrade that takes 10 hours is understandable. There have been significant upgrades to the platform which in turn cost a bit of time. Mainly the 2023.1 upgrade with the introduction of Models and Branches.

Frans this problem is not related to the platform but to the account, you have also submitted this as a ticket. We will respond to you there. Since this doesn't provide additional value for other developers, I will close this topic.

@Mark Jongeling / @Erwin Ekkel thnx for your replies.

We will work on this from the ticket I submitted, but at least now I know that it should be possible to refresh the license from the mentioned page.
