When in code review i want to compare code. Normally an external tool would open. My collegues work in Winmerge but the it policy changed and we now have to work in Kdiff3. Iver installed this tool on my computer but when i press the button in TSF it does not open but provides a message:

Het systeem kan het opgegeven bestand niet vinden

any idea how to fix this?

Perhaps you could try reinstalling kdiff? Since your location seems to differ from the default the problem might be with KDiff  it self.

Two things come to mind.

  1. Is the project folder that was defined in the project also available on your pc?
  2. Is the correct KDiff path set as diff tool?

Dear Kasper, lovely that you mention point number 2.

Is the correct KDiff path set as diff tool?

Where can i set this up?

I thought I had read about it, but unfortunately it was here on the community:

Okay, well Thinkwise supports Winmerge and KDiff3. But the problem is it doesnt open. So i think there should be  a setting somewhere.

Hello Ruud,

Can you verify that the executable name of your KDiff3 is 'kdiff3.exe’? The Windows GUI looks for this executable name explicitly. When I install KDiff3 as normal it ends up in 'C:\Program Files\KDiff3\kdiff3.exe’ and it works immediately when I try a template diff in the SF.

Kind Regards,

Roel

Hi Roel,

For me kdif3.exe is in the bin folder, C:\Program Files\KDiff3\bin\kdiff3.exe

so can i change this location somewhere?
