We have an editable grid and we need to enter some numbers on different records.
After saving a line the grid looses focus related to the up and down keys.

We have to select the line again with the mouse before we can move to the next line with the down arrow key. If we use the down arrow key directly after saving, the grid is scrolling, instead of moving the highlighted (=selected) line to the next record.

@Edwin Saan Please raise this as a bug in TCP instead of an Idea, as it is supposed to work like that and I notice that it does do so for some Control types, but unfortunately not all.

By the way, not sure if you would want this, but:

  • If you enable ‘Auto-edit’ on the Subject settings, you wouldn’t have to use Ctrl+E to go into Edit mode in the first place.
  • if you enable ‘Auto-save’ on the Subject settings you wouldn’t have to use Ctrl+Enter to Save the record. You can simply navigate to the next line and the UI will attempt to Commit the previous record.
    • You can also use this one without the ‘Auto-edit’ setting, which I like a lot since it significantly reduces the number of keystrokes you need! By default your Grid is NOT in Edit mode, but once you’re in Edit mode you can quickly Navigate and Edit. At the end you close Edit state by using Esc.

Just some extra info: We want to do:
CTRL-E (To put a record in edit mode)
Change the number or the value of the field
CTRL-ENTER to save the record
ARROW-DOWN key moves us to the next record.
etc. etc.
So editing in a grid without a mouse at all!
