AI translations for Crystal Reports

Inspired by the Thinkwise Summit, I was wondering whether anyone has experience with using AI for the bulk translation of Crystal Reports.

What would be a good approach or workflow for:

  • Extracting translatable content from Crystal Report (.rpt) files
  • Translating that content using AI
  • Applying the translations back to the reports

Taking the idea one step further, has anyone explored using AI to generate a DevExpress report based on an existing Crystal Report?

We used localization in our report to create a German and English version of the report. The DevExpress report contains a translation table. We exported the table, used AI to translate and then reimported it.

    Thanks! I now used an SDK for Crystal reports that extracts the text from the reports. That does not work 100% unfortunately because of fonttypes and layout of some texts.

    For the most important labels there is a translation-table so that works best for translating without problems.
