SF - make the filter box in the quick bar a combobox with suggestion contains

Related products:Windows GUI

Quite often I use the filter bar on top of the quickbar. I'd like to just type and press enter, instead of press down-arrow multiple times to get to the item of interest:

Is it a lot of trouble to make the filter bar a combobox over the available menu items, so that one can type a couple of letters and press enter? Bonus points for combined combobox and filter capability :-)

With a combobox; wouldn't you lose the overview of the grouping of the menu items? Take the term ‘overview’; in the SF there are multiple subjects in different groups with this term in the name. In the current situation the filtering is very effective in my experience.

My suggestion would be to keep the settings of the filter bar as-is, but to let the pressing of the down-/up-arrow ignore the grouplabels of the menu.
