The default value of max no of records for universal is 100. However the parameter in subjects is set to blank. Blank acts like 100. This is very confusing and not intuitive. My suggestion is to set the default to 100. And have blank act like unlimited.
It would also be nice if the combination with Page size is also made more clear. Currently it seems to work like this:
1)
Max. no. of record: {empty}
Page size: {empty}
Result: TOP 100 is being used, no pages.
2)
Max. no. of record: {empty}
Page size: 50
Result: Unlimited, but pages show 50 records.
3)
Max. no. of record: 250
Page size: {empty}
Result: TOP 250 is being used, no pages
4)
Max. no. of record: 250
Page size: 50
Result: Unlimited, but pages show 50 records. “Max. no. of records” being ignored?
I personally would like option 4) to work as “TOP 250 is being used, but with pages showing 50 records.”
If technically too difficult or not desired, make it not possible to fill both fields.
