Replace standard icons to customize the UI (for ISV's)

Can we replace the default icons of the Universal UI with our own icons? For example, the floppy disk for saving seems rather old-fashioned. And can we replace the icons with text? These are options to make the UI even more customer-specific and that can be very important for ISVs.
