If there is something I'm missing dearly is to visualize the connecting dots.. in systems it's very common to categorize, assign users, assign tags, assign products. et cetera. The use cases are enormous. And in the current state you are going to end up with a lot of details. Which is good if there is extra information to find. A bit too much if it's just to 'connect' the subjects.

See below an example that would benefit the Universal GUI a lot.

Great idea! I can see a lot of benefits of tags, for example being used on smaller screens. I can imagine clicking on a tag, which could open the detail info as a modal.

Or adding a project member easily in one form field instead of adding them in a list of project members (which could take way more actions of a user).

We already have this feature in some sort of way: in a grid column with a lot of different values, filtering through more than 20-ish options shows a suggestion contains box instead of a list of checkable options. If a value is selected to filter on, this is shown as a tag/chip.

Nice idea, you have my vote!

Maybe it will help to merge this idea with this one…

It is one of our most wanted controls, it will help to eliminate many detail screens and make a lot of screens so much more clear for end users.
