When one uses the “Copy columns” in the Data model it will add the column with a +10 increment. When looking at the components like Grid or Form, etc it will add it with an increment of +1.
Manually adding a column will have the +10 increment for the components.
Please also use the +10 when using the copy method so it behaves the same and has a little room to move a column in without needing to renumber or manually edit the order value.
