I have a lot of custom prefilters in the universal gui that need other prefilters to be set off to show the correct information. It would be great if there was an option to deactivate all other (non-locked) prefilters on one click. My suggestion is to add a checkbox for this setting to custom prefilters.

Hi Erwin!

Do I understand you correctly that you want to deactivate interfering filters in prefilters? Or is it meant to make it more easy to start from scratch (no (pre)filter active)?

Basically I want to deactivate interfering prefilters.

Wouldn't it be way more intuitive to show the consequences of a prefilter in the filter popup, then, if I change a filter value, caused by the prefilter, this deactivates the prefilter (as I have altered a value).

In my mind, this would also mean that if a custom prefilter changes filter values which are already on in other prefilters, these other prefilters would be switched off (as you are opting in your idea, right?)

This does brings a challenge: what if a prefilter changes multiple columns? Should deactivating a prefilter cancel all filter values?

And what about filter expressions? Mustafa has a blog released about filtering, where a design is placed about filtering in details, so that could be handled as well I think. But I do think that showing the prefilter actions in the filter popup and letting the prefilters react on actions in the filter popup would offer the user more than a button which

Please close this. This is more an application issue. I will workaround this.

@Erwin Ekkel Let’s not close this Idea! We actually discussed a concept this week where we would allow to save a comprehensive ‘state’ of your Subject, including Pre-filter / Filter / and UP settings like Screen Type, Grid columns, Sort, etc.

This won’t be implemented in the very near future and it won’t be a checkbox, but is definitely worth to keep in mind as part of improved User Preferences!

That sounds exactly what I need! Good to hear.
