Idea as follow up from the question:

An advanced feature that was available in the older GUI’s, that could help filter situation that “Filter Form”, “Combined filter” or “Grid Column Filter” could not achieve.

Pressing the little arrow down made it available
Possible to filter several conditions like a Boolean function

Able to also input it as a text (which you could use to recreate the filter as it never got a feature to save these).

Hi @Mark_Plaggenborg! Have you seen the blog of Mustafa of last week? I believe his blog goes into this topic, whereas I also believe he researched the possibilities to include other tables in a filter.

Would that bring the options you need? Feel free to join the conversation in that blog!

@Mark_Plaggenborg to be a bit more specific than Bart’s answer: we are actually aiming to tackle this for Release 2025.2 by introducing an Advanced Filter mode, together with the Filter on detail tabs. See the design @Mustafa Kazanc shared there:

@Bart Metselaar I had indeed taken a look at the blog by Mustafa. Not really constructed an opinion yet, but there are certainly some nice options mentioned. It does depend on the type of user as well what would work best. Thanks for mentioning the blogs existence at least.

@Arie V The option for “Advanced mode” in filtering with the similarities to the old “Filter expression” does look promising. There will definitely be a group of power users that would look forward to this type of filter. Thank you for pointing this one out.
