For a businesscase we have to set the color of a chart column to a specific color, based on the total amount. For example, when the column value <= 20 it needs to be shown in red.

I recently created a ticket for this on howto activate conditional formatting on charts, but it isn’t possible at the moment. I think this will be very usefull for other customers to.

This is planned to be resolved with the Roadmap 2025 H1 efforts.

Important note on the implementation.

Since the colors present in the chart are associated with a legend, only conditional layouts where the evaluated conditions exactly match a single item in the legend will be applied.

The GUI will not introduce additional items in the legend when only part of the graph elements fulfills the conditional layout conditions.

For example:

A conditional layout on the appointment type Presentation and where the value is lower than 2 cannot be applied as there is no single legend item which represents this situation.

You’ll have to use constant lines for this.

Rules of thumb:

  • Any conditions on the categories (represented in the axis of the chart) are unlikely to resolve to a single item in the legend.
  • Any conditions on series (represented in the legend) other than Equal-to or Is null are unlikely to resolve to a single item in the legend.
  • Any conditions on the actual values are unlikely to resolve to a single item in the legend.

In short, only conditional layouts for a value with Equal-to or Is null on all series configured for a cube view will always resolve to a single legend item and will always be applicable.
