We’d like to have deep linking available directly in the Software Factory (and ideally IAM).
In end‑user applications you can already deep link to a specific record via a process flow, but this isn’t possible in SF itself. This makes it harder to point colleagues to the exact place in the model when discussing issues or reviewing work.
Why this would help:

  • You can share a link that opens the exact process flow, control procedure, task or table you’re talking about, which makes collaboration much smoother. We already pass deep links around in Teams for process flows and error screens, so having this supported in SF would make that consistent.
  • Reviewers and new team members can jump straight to the right place without navigating through multiple screens.
  • It becomes easier to keep documentation up to date guides and runbooks can simply link to the correct SF item instead of describing long navigation steps.
  • It also helps prevent misunderstandings during development, because everyone opens the exact same object and version instead of possibly looking at different branches or outdated definitions.

This should be implemented more broadly, not just for the Software Factory. This could be useful for all applications.

Just a reminder, also consider this previous open idea for ‘sharing’ links from the application

I was looking into our own backlog and saw my Jira-ticket from January 2023, requesting this feature in our ERP-application. Since deeplinking (with process flows) is available for a longer time, it should be also possible to utilize it for a lot of customers (IAM / SF / TCP / other customer applications).

"Business Context

Currently, when a colleagues asks another colleague for support related to a record in BRIDGE, they are sharing printscreens or telling verbally with which item they encounter issues or require action. The supporting person (or helpdesk) then needs to find / locate the relevant item in BRIDGE first in order to assist. This process takes a lot of inefficient waiting / searching time via Menu Bar > Search / Filter in Grid > Play with Prefilters etc.

It would be awesome when each table with records has a task (just like the current Help Task), which allows users to Copy a Deeplink to the selected record. This would make communication between colleagues very efficient and effective.

Requirements
- The share task should be created dynamically, just as the current Help Task. Developers or functional administrators should be in charge to activate these share tasks on relevant screens.
- The share task should copy the deeplink directly to clipboard
- A user should not be able to navigate to a record when they don't have enough rights.
- The share task should have this share Icon
