At support we work with multiple version of the software factory and multiple environments. However with the introduction of universal there is no clear (default) way to distinguish the environments. In universal you can check information for which platform version you are using, but then you still don’t know which database. This was much easier to distinguish in windows gui.

Can we add a setting to show the database name and platform version? I can imagine you don’t want to do this by default. So a setting that can be activated for the development environment to show the database name somewhere would be appreciated.

Windows gui: (on openening the gui you can see both the database name and the platform version)

Universal: No clue which database or platform i’m looking at.

about does show me the platform version:

@Erwin Ekkel Knowing which Platform version you’re in is only relevant if you work in multiple different Platform versions, which is mainly applicable to the Support desk. I’d say the ‘About’ popup is good enough for that and see no reason to change that.

As for the Database: why would you want to know that? We’ll look into visualizing the active Model & Branch in the Page tab title for example, but I am not sure about the added value of the Database name.

Information is also available on the Indicium landing page and the Database Event log respectively.

At support we are working in the 2026.1, 2026.1 STS, and in the future 2026.2, 2026.3 etc. Also within one IAM instance there can be multiple SF instances.

They all look visually the same. Where with the windows gui you could actually see the difference between SF instance and IAM instance. Having a distinction between all these versions makes working with multiple instances much easier.

I understand for most developers this is not an issue since they are working in an isolated SF environment. If this is not something we want to change I will look into my own solution and see if i can think of a way to incorporate this using CSS or custom backgrounds.
