Knowledge Session: Organizational Typologies and their process and control structures
By Mariët Scholten (Thinkwise CFO) & Roland van Aggele (Lead Process Manager)
Date: 19 May 2026 at 12:30 – 13:30
Using different methodologies, we will explore how different types of organizations, such as service providers, trading companies and manufacturing firms, require fundamentally different process and control structures.
The focus of this session will be on administrative control, what is it, how do you implement it, with concrete control examples such as:
Structured inventory administration in production companies (cycle counting and reconciliation)
Purchase-to-pay and goods receipt matching in trading companies (three-way match between purchase order, goods receipt, and supplier invoice
Revenue recognition & time registration control in service organizations (project-based hours, billable and non billable hours)
We’ll show what the standard controls are that you need to know about and how to implement them in practice using our platform, including controls customers often didn’t realize were necessary, and how this leads to measurable efficiency gains.
