Knowledge Session: Domain Driven Design: Encapsulating business intention in software by Sogyo
In this presentation we will explore the central dogma of Domain Driven Design (DDD). A case-study will demonstrate the implications of applying this thought-model. We will discuss how DDD tackles the decomposition of software ecosystems all the way down to the level of single problem domains. Making this structure explicit through Domain Canvasses provides an effective tool to visualize the link between ecosystem architecture and service components.
With this set of tools, we can address the following questions:
- Which of our problem domains are core, generic or supporting?
- Which characteristics can problem domains have?
- Which of these lend themselves well to implementation with Thinkwise?
Lastly, we’ll discuss the importance of considering consistency across domains, for these considerations become ever more important as Thinkwise finds adoption at scale.
