During development I regularly use the Windows GUI to find relevant information regarding screens, columns, parameters, etc. with the Alt + F1 combination (Path Location). Even though the Universal GUI has “Model Insight”, it is lacking many things the other option is giving.I think it is not the intent of ThinkWise to keep the need for using a different GUI to make your Universal GUI product complete. What is the purpose of being able to enable/disable process actions in a role? The reason asking is that when one action is not enabled, the whole process flow is not granted and therefor not working.Here an example situation:Example of a simple process flowThere is a table task on several screens which all execute the same type of action and flow to opening a report. For management it is easy to have all entries in the same flow.In a role only one or limited screens need to be available to the user, so only those parts of the flow need to be accessible I would think. Lets say the first line in the example and not the Pink and Green marked ones.Another consequence is when you are developing and adding a new screen with the same task and you add it to the flow. Let say the Green marked one. Now in all role that have this flow, the functionality is broken, because there is a new action available even though that would not touch anything in the old roles. There is a domain with 5 elements and they all have a translation. In a task I am using a parameter with the same domain, but to limit the options in the selection, I have used a view to reduce them to logic choices and the column uses the same domain.When I now use the task, it does indeed limit my choices, but now it does not show the translated values. Clicking open the lookup, you see the options there are translated. How can I make it work that the parameter also uses these? Task showing db value, while the lookup view shows the translation.(Universal GUI 2024.1.12.2 Platform: 2023.3 with hotfixes applied)
Is the “Immediate” timing of an Input constraint implemented yet? Using a domain with the NVARCHAR datatype and length 10, I was hoping the GUI would already check for the need of having at least 10 character, but unfortunately it does not and only limits it as a maximum. Seeing the input constraint, it seems to be a solution to some requirements I would like to apply to the domain as an input field (GUI).I am a bit confused about the “Regular expression” vs the “SQL expression”. The Action bar control in the screen type can be used to control its position instead of having it always full width of the screen (component) and being on top. This is a great feature!The Task bar component seems to overrule the accessibility of the task in the action bar by default, but when the screen type also has the component “Action bar” it just duplicates. Will this be changed eventually to also overrule its location when the “Action bar” component is used?I have read that Filter bar and similar components will get the same rules as the Task bar currently does, so I would expect the same for those as well, when it has been implemented.Alternativerly:As of version 2023.3.13 of the Universal GUI there has been added a functionality to give a JSON to position the components order, so a “Hide” option would also work as I see it. So it would add,“hide”: [ “Tasks”, “Prefilters”]Making it so the separate components will show them where they are positioned.
In the Web GUI it was possible to use “Select all” and when activating a task it would ask if you wanted the records on the page or all records of all pages. Please add this also in the Universal and in addition make it work with the Multi Select XML parameter, as this popup did not seem to happen in that case.
How can I see in Universal that a screen is limiting its result by the “max. no. of records” when applicable?Some screen we have set a limit for performance reasons, but I cannot seem to find when a screen is limiting my result or that is falls right in the range.
How can I change the resulting filename of a report after it has been called?I have tried to use the “Export path” property of the report, but this seems to not affect the result in the Universal GUI. In de Windows GUI I can see this field and it does change the filename.We would like to have the name generated by the selected record they are creating a report for instead of the translation of the report.
How do I make use of the Report actions in Universal? When I add a parameter with the property “Action”, I do get the dropdown available in the Windows GUI, but in Universal it does not appear.In want to give user the opportunity to choose their export preference as “Print preview” now defaulted to exporting PDF. There is no option for them to choose for example Excel, Word.
In the Web GUI when you choose “Export immediately”, it only exports the visible columns. When I use this same option in the Universal GUI, it uses all columns of the table/view.How can I enable the same functionality, as we do not want users to see the hidden data?
How do I control how wide the task fields are going to be?The window seems to open a fixed size, partially depending on the “no. of columns in form” setting, but I’d like the window to be wider as certain fields require more room to show/enter the values. Having a named Model version, it will store the generated code files in the Model folder with a subfolder of the version name. (When using “Execute all creation steps”){Storage}\Model\Version_name\Source_code\…When manually clicking the “Generate source code” it seems to ignore the Version name and do store it into Model/Branch{Storage}\Model\Branch\Source_code\…When you generate the IAM model file, it will however put the file into Model/Branch{Storage}\Model\Branch\MODEL_SYNC.sql It would be nice to have it at least always follow the Model/Branch structure, as you are working in a specific branch. This would result in 2 options since Version names are not mandatory. The user want some “me” feel to the product they login to. It would be nice if the user gets an option to upload his/her own image for use as the Theme picture. If none exists it should always revert to the theme setting of the model.
Is there a way to have a user apply his/her own Theme picture?Customers always like to have a little personalization available, so we are thinking of making the theme picture an option so they can apply their personal or company picture the background image. The situation will be using the same application, so only the user is the variable.
When you have set a task to “no. of columns in form” = 2 and your layout is hiding enough parameters on initial call to make it possible to show in 1 column, it will size the window to this. If user input makes the layout show more parameters, it will stay the 1 column format, even though it would benefit for the visual use to make it 2 columns instead of turning it scrollable.It is a better user experience when information is in one window instead of having to scroll to find out there is information there.
In a few cases, use of prefilters and/or normal filter do not entirely suffice for the required functionality. The behaviour of the combined filter will benefit more because it can search for the same values in multiple fields.It would be nice if a process flow also has an action to enter the value in the combined filter.This way we can add some “helper” functionality to make the search more accurate instead of hoping the user will type the enough or complete enough values. Instead it will be handled in the process flow and that will input the complete string in the combined filter.
It seems the extended property “CombinedFilterDelay“ does not take in the Universal GUI as it did with the Web GUI. What can I do with Universal to get the same effect back?Screens that take a little longer to show a result get totally locked as perceived by the user, since there are multiple calls awaiting response.Also, is there no indicator that the search is triggered? From a users point of view it seems nothing is happening after typing, unless the result can be shown quick enough and is showing a difference from the starting point.

We are thinking about running 2 instances of Indicium to separate the load. We want to keep one for use with the Universal GUI and another one for possible external processes (which might put more pressure in the service). The thing is that Indicium is responsible for running the scheduled system flows.Is this possible without both indiciums trying to run the scheduled system flows?

Working in SF 2023.3, we have Azure filestorage as the location to which files are generated. For IAM is seems to generate it:{Path Azure filestorage}\Model\Branch\MODEL_SYNC.sqlThis would be nice for the Code files as well, however this generates it to:{Path Azure filestorage}\Model\Version_name\Source_code\...I would like it to also include the branch as such:{Path Azure filestorage}\Model\Branch\Version_name\Source_code\...Is this possible?
