Hi Jasper, This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you very much. Works like a charm.
Totally agree. You could probably achieve this by creating a view with a pivot. However, a pivot is not the best option with performance in mind.
tried with GUI 2019.1.14.0 same problem. I will report this as a bug then.
For performance bottle necks the Profiler is a very helpful tool, but be careful to use this with a production system since the profiler takes up a lot of resources. Run the profiler with the 'Tuning' template. In case the tuning template is not available in the events selection tab check the tick box show all events. Then in the stored procedures section check SP: StmtCompleted. Doing this you will get each individual statement with its duration and the number of reads/writes. This will give you a clear indication of where your bottleneck lies.
If it's the same task but with different settings could you not just add a popup to the task with a couple of check boxes? And then fill the parameters based on those settings. This would negate the necessity for having the same task multiple times.
This helps when checking something with an older version of the project/branch. This does however still leave the risk of changing something in the trunk, a different project or a different (active) branch.
I think you just answered your own question. It's also possible to create a procedure with multiple templates and assign the necessary template to each view.
Then create a subroutine with the logic from the IOT of relation_address_view. You can then add this subroutine in both the IOT of person_look_up and in relation_address_view. This will have the same effect but will remove the need to insert into the view.
Why would you update the view and not just insert into the base tables? Apparently your view relation_address_view consists of multiple tables. Instead of inserting into the view, insert into the base tables in separate insert statements.
