Execute a task in Universal which is not linked to any subject

We have a task defined, which is not linked to any subject. We are developing a separate API which needs to execute this task, but Indicium Universal keeps throwing a 404.Is there a way to execute a task through Indicium Universal which is not linked to a subject?Thanks in advance!

Disable the PWA installation option

Due to a problem we have with the OpenID Connect authentication provider in combination with PWA we would like to disable the “Install as PWA” from the menu so end-users cannot use this functionality and just use the browser based variant. Does anyone know if and how PWA installation can be disabled?

Universal - Auto edit in grid and multi row select

Dates not being displayed propertly with devexpress

Hello, we have a report where we show some dates. In the report configuration I am forcing the "dd-MM-yyyy” format, and with SQL I am getting the dates in this format as well. However, the dates are still being displayed as "MM/dd/yyyy” on the report. Has anybody else encountered this and solved it?

Multiple keys to select from detail in relationshipNeeds feedback

I was just reading “filtering in a pivot grid”, and remembered that I had this Idea.If you have a list and a detail, you can select multiple items in the list, but the detail is only linked to the main focus item.I have a use case in which it would be great if you could expand this to, this key or … that key, or …, etc.With a filter it is possible to have a filter to select multiple options, but this could be less clear to the user, and the fact that it is not possible to make the filter mandatory makes that we can’t use this option. We have a large “fact table”, and I’m looking for a clear way in which a user can select some options to query, without ever selecting everything. The user should not start with everything, but with nothing. If you have a graph, and 1000 categories, you don’t want to start with “show everything”.If the graph would be a detail of a list with categories, the user could select one category and see the graph, or use the control key to select more.

Allow the context procedure to overrule the SF settings.Needs feedback

At this moment, if I state in the SF that a detail is not visible, the parameter to make it visible is not offered to the context procedure, and the settings in the SF database always win.This has 2 disadvantages;1) If we change the visibility in the SF and forget to recompile the context procedure, we get an error.2) If the internet is slow, or something goes wrong the user can see tabs, the user should not see. ( We have one place where we switch between 10 tabs … ).It would be nice to have 3 or 4 states; show, don’t show, or only show when the context stored procedure wants it, with “this” as default ... 4 states would be possible with one additional checkbox.This is kind of related to my previous idea, but technically requires more. User preferences can differ, and I like to build by enabling things, instead of disabling things. ( We have a row based security on top of the Thinkwise security… that is an important reason why I would like to have the possibility to only show things w

Generative AI via an enrichment is incredibly slow

Hello everyone,We recently implemented a solution for manual tests. This is that we can generate a description using generative AI. This works well for single objects, but when I want to generate descriptions for all of the remaining 200 tests, it becomes incredibly slow, and eventually even freezes. I thought this was my code at first, but when I tested it with the already present description generator for template code, it did the exact same.So now I have to generate my descriptions one by one, which will take an incredibly long time, otherwise I can wait about an hour for it to reach 25% only for it to freeze. We make use of GPT-4.0-turbo. Is this known to be slow or is there something wrong?

Hi everyone!We’ve released the following platform improvement this week: IAM 2022.2, 2023.1, 2023.2, 2023.3 20240415 - Corrected effective variant rights Indicium did not always received the correct rights for a variant with a different form layout then its base. This has been corrected. For IAM 2023.2, an additional hotfix came out to resolve an issue: 20240417 - Remove label width and field width from col form function SF 2023.1 20240419 - Correct deletion of delete strategy program object When combining the staged and delete strategies, there was a small chance that program objects were not set stale upon generating definitions which could lead to code being omited from a generated code file. This has been fixed.

A little improvement of the tsf_user() functionUnder review

I found 2 problems with the tsf_user function;If I use the function as DBA (with a direct login to the database) the function gives a guid. The function can confuse the SQL-Server query optimizer with the result that the function gets executed multiple times.As a workaround I replaced the function by a view, which checks if the CONTEXT_INFO value isn’t a GUID, and an additional check whether the user returned is actually present in our user table.I did not investigate what it would do with the performance when I made the function schema bound, but the view is much faster… and I think that making the function schema bound might give the same result. ( It would not bind to anything, but SQL-Server might understand that there is no need to evaluate the function more then once ).

Unknown Import Error

We are trying to import an excel file using the import functionality but we keep getting an error. We created a custom report which results into an export to excel. After editing the excel report, we want to import the excel file again and update the existing rows. However, we get the following error.We also tried to use the export functionality of the Universal GUI, but if we make an edit in the excel file, we get the same error using the import. Do you have any suggestions? We also do not see any errors in indicium error log. We use the current version: Version: 2024.1Build: 11.1 (beta)

detail tab with view shows display message

hi,We use a view in a detail tab where we combine two tables, a record can be added in the row. We use an instead of trigger to insert the records in het underlying tables. After adding the record, the message “saved data can not be displayed on this screen”, but surprise, the new record is shown! Because of the two tables, two primary keys are added in this view, can this be the problem? Should I create a dummy primary key for this view?Anybody an idea how to fix this?

Default display type setting per branchOpen

As a developer, I would like to be able to set the default display type of a table task in the project for more consistency within the application.Currently, every table task you add defaults to the "Icon+text (>text >icon)" display type, while we prefer "icon only" by default. So, as a developer, you need to manually adjust this for every new table task.If you can set this default in your project and it is applied automatically, it will reduce the chance of errors and increase consistency in your application because it will be displayed in the same way.

Unexpected behaviour in the universal GUI

Hello everyone,We have, in our software solution, two measurement systems. Imperial and metric. In the imperial form the numeric values are written down as fractions, so in nvarchar values. This is because that is the custom for the system in the countries that use the imperial system.Because we know that can lead to some interesting things we added a regular expression to it so the user can only add a valid fraction. But when following the following steps some strange behaviour occurs:I fill in a new machine (on the machine screen); I fill in wrong values; I get the validations as expected; I try to hit cancel to get out of the screen; The screen does not disappear; The screen suddenly disappears and sometimes gives an unknown error after fixing the validations, I shall also add the Indicium log, as that may be of interest; The same goes for adding, after fixing the validations it immediately adds the machine, this is not very user experience friendly as it might be a slip of the pen

Like many, our company uses DUO Push for users to log in on the network. We would like to use this too for the users who has an extended application in Universal GUI next to our ERP in Windows GUI. How to setup Drag-Drop to Scheduler

We try to set up a drag-drop scenario within the Universal GUI.The main goal is to place outstanding orders in the planning (scheduler) with a drag & drop task from a detail table.Because drag-drop from card lists is not yet available, we make use of a grid with a multiline HTML field as only visible field as source table. The target table makes use of the scheduler component.Questions/wishes:1. How can the activity resource of the target table be linked to the drag-drop task?2. Can week numbers, dates and times be optimized?

Why did the target default change for deeplinks? (.13)

I am pretty sure that before the last .13 GUI release the target of deep-links where not overruled by a default _blank. I really want this to be a setting or ignored. We use quite some deep links to get from pieces of HTML to the next functionality in the Universal GUI. Now they all end up opening new tabs/windows. This is not wanted.

prc_prf has too many arguments specified.

Hey all, i’m not sure what this error means, this procesflow work in local development environment in universal but not in the uat universal environment.Indicium.Shared.TSF.FatalDbException (0x80004005): The following query failed with an exception: 'prc_prf_activity_complete_execute_tab_task_activity_question' ---> Microsoft.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Procedure or function prc_prf_activity_complete_execute_tab_task_activity_question has too many arguments specified. Does someone have a clue?

Why are all indexes rebuilt during a smart upgrade

We currently use the Thinkwise 2023.3 product. It seems that in this version all indexes are being rebuilt when doing a smart upgrade.In the current version of our application only one new table is introduced, but it takes much longer than in the previous version of the SF (2023.1) we used. Hundreds if of indexes are created, so the upgrade takes longer than expected.Anybody else have experienced this? Is this new in this version and if so, why? Can't it be “smarter”?

For instance if you have a model where only one developer works on.Alternatively, make an overwrite setting per model/branch that overrules the default setting in sf_config.

Remove 'Code review required' setting and require it always.Open

Code review is one of the most important methods to improve application quality. Code review, in my opinion is not an optional step. Therefore I think we should remove the option to disable code review. Non-reviewed code should always throw a validation message.For the people flying solo, at least use the AI code review feature…
