Date/DateTime filter for UniversalCompleted

As a developer, I want the filtering capabilities of Universal to be identical as the filtering capabilities of the Windows GUI.The Windows GUI accepts form filters and combined filters for date and datetime fields. These work as expected. Universal however does not show these types of filters, as the capability is not implemented.

Fill look-up with filtered results from table unrelated to t1

Hi everyone,We're working an a screen showing a venue that belongs to a topic. There are more venues for the main topic. So, there are speakers for the topic, and the speaker is selected with a venue for that topic. So, the speaker is linked at the topic. The speaker has more topics he can speak about. However, we want to be able to add more topics to this venue. Each speaker confirms the topic at a later date if he or she is speaking about a topic at that venue.We can't seem to get a list of topics (linked to the speaker) for the venue, so that we can select 1 or more topics to add to that venue. How would we best get this done?So, we have topics, and topics have available speakers. Each speaker has one or more topics. We select a venue, and go into that venue. We then want to have a list of topics that are linked to the speaker of the venue. The venue is now our t1. Deployment issue; creation from SF in Azure#1 to Azure#2

Hi everyone,We have one SF that we use to deploy (create) to a development environment and an environment for testing and user acceptance. This is set up in Azure environment 1. We are in the process of setting up the production environment. This is Azure environment 2. The production environment will have its own IAM and an application.The IAM database is created and set up in the production environment (Azure#2) by means of the Deployment Center. Also, Indicium and Universal have been set up in an app service on Azure#2. appsettings.json has been provided with the correct (pool) user data and database name. This user has verified access to the database. The next step would be doing a creation from the SF on the development environment (Azure#1) to the production environment (Azure#2).The SF offers an option to configure a custom pool user for a runtime configuration. Progress indication for input fieldsOpen

As a developer, I want to be able to pass "dynamic" values to the UI while queries are running, to inform the user of activity. For example, when I have a default that requires, say, a template/script having 5 queries to run before it fills an input field, I want to indicate a percentage of "20%/40%/60%/80%/100% done" before the input field(s) get filled. Or, I want the field(s) that will be filled by the result of the SQL script to indicate activity (an hour glass, or 1-dot-2-dots-3-dots-1-dot-2-dots-3-dots, you get the idea, something like a spinner) in the input field as long as the default template/script gets executed, for long(er)-running scripts. Hi everyone,We've implemented an auto-lookup for address data using @cursor_from_col_id. When both a zip-code and a house number is filled, the street name and city is retrieved. This works great.The table that contains the address data has over 9 million rows. Searching takes a few seconds. From a usability point of view, we would like to show an hour glass once the searching is starting in the fields that will be automatically filled.We tried setting the field variables to the ASCII hour glass (⧗) manually, have two temporary variables filled with a SELECT statement that retrieves the data, and once the temp variables are filled, move their contents to the field variables. However, a field can't seem to set to a value more than once. So, we don't see the hour glass at all. Instead, the fields remain blank, until the data is retrieved from he database.How would we set up a spinner sort of thing correctly, so that the user has visual confirmation that activity is going on? Quick question about "BeginEdit()"

When we edit a template in SSMS, and import it to the SF, we get the following popup: What does it mean? The SQL script seems to be imported correctly, and it can be executed so that it gets "active”. OData query; expand multiple tables/references

Hello everyone,We're experimenting with the API functionality and its OData query possibilities. We have a situation that we can't seem to get "right" though. Let's consider the following situation:Table "car"Table "driver"Table "car_driver"Car_driver obviously is the linking table between car and driver. To query that, we need to "expand" the relation, as explained in the documentation. How to use IAM user details within application itself

Hello everyone,We'd like to get user details in our application. This means, that we'd like to be able to link an IAM user to an application table. Say, we have an IAM role "driver". This role can log on to the application. The application has a table "driver" that links drivers to trucks, cargos and what not. In order for us to filter data for that driver specifically, so that the driver doesn't see other drivers' details. How would we set this up?As far as we can see, we can call tsf_user() from within the application. This results in a GUID. But this GUID can't be traced back to any IAM user "out of the box". There's no username, email or anything recognizable. Are we overlooking something?Best regards,- Alex.

CSS question

Hi Everyone,We’re having a CSS question. I once saw a topic specifically for such questions, but I can't seem to locate it anymore.We're successful in changing the appearance of the Universal looks for a client. However, one minor detail seems difficult to style. It concerns lookup fields. Have a look at the screenshots below. The yellow arrow points to a lookup. This input looks alright. Until it gets focus. See below. The placeholder text gets transformed and colored. It being colored is the issue here. We want it to remain legible, and colored the same way as our tab texts; black. Lookup problem regarding SQL performance

Hi Everyone,We're populating a table with over 9 million addresses. These addresses serve an auto-complete lookup. Whenever a user starts typing, the lookup displays results that match what the user typed thusfar. This worked great when we had 10 addresses in the database. Now that the database is filled with over a million addresses, the lookup grinds to a halt whenever the user starts to type, uses the caret or clicks the looking glass to open the selection form. How do we handle tables containing a large amount of records with an auto-complete lookup?The database is still getting filled. Once filled, we'll create an index on the table. This will speed it up. What other things can we do to keep the UI user-friendly and responsive? Can the looking glass and/or the caret be removed from the field, for instance?We're using Universal, but the Windows GUI suffers from the same lag. Resource Scheduler and Extender Basics

Hi everyone,Trying to get up-'n-running with the Resource Scheduler poses some problems to us. Our client wants to schedule time blocks of 15 minutes for materials, locations and people. This means implementing a scale different from the day based one. We need an Extender for this, and the web GUI, since Universal doesn't support (this type of?) Extenders yet.We used the base project from the store in a test project. A simple schedule for days for a person could be done. Once the extender got included, things got blurry for us. We followed the docs to the letter, but it doesn't want to work for us. Here's what we did;3 views were created for resource, task and worktime. A stored procedure fills these views with data. The Extender was configured as described in the Docs. We looked into Screen Types, but we couldn't find anything wrong there. How to preview multiple files that are stored in a table?

Hello all,The preview component works well, but it grabs the first file that it encounters in a table row. However, we have two files in a table row. Let's say, we have a proof of purchase, and a discount voucher. Both are obtained through an API call, stored as Base64 and converted back to their binary form after insert. The binary file is stored in the proper storage column linked to the file/filename field. This works flawlessly.We only get to see the first file, though. The second file is simply ignored. Developers' license

Hi everyone,We are wondering if it would be possible to have a developers license, so that developers can keep up with new functionalities by trying them out, and expand their knowledge on the platform altogether by playing and discovering.Currently, if developers use a local playground sort of thing, with platforms against a local SQL server, the cost will increase considerably because of the number of tables that are calculated towards the partner license. We've set up a hosting account where we installed a platform at, so that we can try out things and create a solution-library for ourselves. It's not optimal though.The Thinkwise course itself uses virtual machines that get recycled. It would be a step forward if partners could use a VM at their own infrastructure where their developers can learn new things, and keep them up-to-speed with new things. Microsoft Graph issue

Hello everyone,Because the new Exchange connector that is scheduled for the month November of this year will not give adequate possibilities for our client, we're trying our luck with Microsoft Graph. We created a call and made it fit our needs using Postman.We configured and use all the right credentials (client ID, tenant ID and client secret) for token generation. Actually, we created a call for getting data, and one for patching data. The call types are, of course, get and patch respectively. All calls are successful, and perform as expected, using Postman.Next, we went to our Software Factory, to make Thinkwise perform the same calls. Using a process flow, we make the proper call, the same as we did using Postman.We get a correct token in Thinkwise. When we copy this token from the debugger, and check it with jwt.ms, we get a valid token. In fact, when we use this token in Postman to make calls, it works perfectly. Pre-filtered lookup?

Hello everyone,We're running into an interesting problem. We have an entity (say, a group) that has contacts (persons). The group is part of an organization. The organization is the owner of all the contacts, but you want to select a contact with a group, but only from a list of contacts within the organization.We use a lookup to select the contact with the group. Execute process flow upon loading screen

Hello everyone,I'm trying to realize the following; upon log on of the user, the user gets presented a more or less personalized dashboard. The dashboard contains, among other things, a list of notes (made by other users) that are assigned to the user.In order to get this done, we need to execute a process flow or system flow that fires a tsf_notify at some point. Is there a way to fire a flow when a screen loads or is loaded? Is there some "done loading" event that can be observed or hooked into? Can a screen, for instance, be configured for auto refresh, as a refresh event can fire a flow. We could make the flow stop the refresh, so the refresh only happens once. Client wants independence regarding template design

Hello everyone,Has any of you experience with clients that manage and edit the templates used in their solution themselves? We use the DevExpress Report Designer to create templates for the client. However, the client wants to do the editing and maintenance of these templates themselves. As far as I know there is no wysiwig editor for this, so the client would need to use the DevExpress tool as well. This involves a creation of the application after an upload of the template in order to synchronize the report. What would be the proper way to instruct the client in this case? Future of Exchange Connector

Hello everyone,We asked Thinkwise Support about the way to set up the Exchange Connector in cases where the legacy EWS Connector is missing from Azure. The reply was to add full Application permissions for the newer Office 365 Exchange Online connector in Azure. However, that Office 365 Exchange Online option is not present in Azure either.Microsoft advices to use the MS Graph connector for as much as possible. We might be able to go that route. But we're curious about the contingency plan for the Thinkwise Exchange Connector. Is there such a plan? What is the future for this connector?Best regards,- Alex
