Use 'open lookup' as a start action for a process flowUnder review

I would like to use the open lookup action (clicking the lookup icon) as a start action for a process flow.This would allow us to guide user actions when they click this icon.We often find that users click this icon while editing or adding a row because the lookup column did not display the object they needed. So they open the lookup and often need to disable a prefilter to see the rows they needed. Our users complain that this is hard to understand and to much of a hassle.With a process flow we would be able to automatically disable prefilters when they open the lookup, making the entire process more intuitive. Using a process flow for this allows us to configure which prefilters should be disabled and which may remain active.Implementing this also opens up all kind of nice features since so many things are already possible using process flows. We could also configure it to send a user to a form in edit mode so they can immediately add a missing row without any extra clicks for exampl

Why is my task parameter default input read only in the SF?

Hi, under the performance tab of task parameters There are options to enable/disable task, default and layout input/output. For some reason the default input is always read-only us: We tried to discover why, and it seems we simply don’t have edit rights for this column, as seen in the results of this query on our Software Factory IAM: Is there any reason for this?Also: does disabling the default input type limit the amount of default (stage_add) calls to Indicium?

Merge a branch to another branchNext release

I would like to merge branches to other branches, even when the only thing they have in common is the main branch. There already have been several questions about this: The suggestion there is to always use a common branch between branches so that branch A may be merged to branch B via common branch C. We are increasingly struggling with our branches however. It often happens that incomplete functionality in branch A is needed in branch B and we didn’t foresee this when we created the branches.With the recent changes to project versions and how differences are calculated, would it now be possible to implement support for merging branches to other (not directly related) branches? Somewhat like how Git supports this.

Drag and drop disable certain rows & combine with copy

We are experimenting with drag and drop in the Universal GUI and it looks really promising. For a certain application we are trying to link rows from one grid to rows in another grid. This works fine but we don’t want to allow users to drag a row to another row that is already linked. Is this possible? Using the context logic disables it for the entire table. We could of course show a message using the task logic and use conditional formatting to make it more intuitive but I’ve seen the cursor change to a forbidden sign while dragging across other tables. Is this something we can program as well?Also, if a user can’t find a match in the target table while dragging, we would like to allow them to drop the row on the table rather than a row so we can create a row for them. I can’t seem to get this to work, the drag and drop task parameters get filled with target row columns wherever I release the drag.The docs mention the following:Does this mean it is possible to drag to the table rath

Amount of time control typeOpen

We would like a new control type that allows users to easily select an amount of time (hours and minutes) and store this data in our database. This could be a decimal format where 65,75 is displayed in the UI as 65:45. The currently available control type TIME is used to store the time of day. It cannot be used to select or display an amount of hours and minutes exceeding 23:59:59.

with inline = on - iTVF subroutine causing errors

I’m trying to create an inlineable Table Valued Function. I’ve created a subroutine with option INLINE set to ON. The function has a nearly empty template only containing:return;whenever I try to execute the source code I get this error:Msg 487, Level 16, State 1, Procedure get_calculation_component_overview, Line 47 [Batch Start Line 6]An invalid option was specified for the statement "CREATE/ALTER FUNCTION".The function executes fine when I remove the linewith inline = onThe database compatibility is 150 and we’re using SQL server 2019: Why isn’t this working?

How to set the size of a circle in the map component?

I’m trying to display a circle on the map component in the universal GUI (2022.2.13 b2.0) But nothing I do seems to alter the size of the circle. I’ve tried giving it two coordinates hoping that this would set the size but the circle remains the same. { "CoordSets": [ [ { "Lon": "10.865400", "Lat": "55.565922" }, { "Lon": "10.865400", "Lat": "56.0150816223465" } ] ]}The docs don’t ever seem to mention the circle geometric type for the map component. How is this supposed to work?

Change detection @col parameter not filled.

Hi,I’m struggling with the change detection. It seems that our @col_id parameter doesn’t get filled (always null). In the docs it says that the column will only have a value when the logic is called if the table to which the column belongs, is shown as a detail. In our case we display the grid of a table and we have the form of this object under a detail tab. Context, layout and default procedures have no problem reading our @col_id but in the change detection, the value is always null.I thought the primary key columns of an object would be available and filled when a detail tab is opened or a row is selected. Is this not the case? Is there a way around this? I would rather not refresh all objects whenever one object gets changed.

I’m trying to setup a connection between my application and the simple notification service (SNS) from AWS. This is proving to be troublesome because of the way AWS manages these subscriptions.To subscribe AWS first sends a subscription token to the endpoint (in indicium) that will receive the SNS notifications. The endpoint in my application then needs to reply with the SNS-token to verify the subscription.To send the subscription token, AWS sends two messages: One without authentication and then one with authentication based on the header that is received in response of the first message.The endpoint in my application needs to respond to the first message without authentication with a 401 code with a header that specifies the type of authentication that is expected*: WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm=“<application>” .Indicium automatically responds with a 401 code and the header:WWW-Authenticate: Indicium realm=“<application>” Even when using a message protocol-independent w

Maps component data mapping

Hi, I can’t get the data mapping layers to work in the universal GUI and the windows GUI.What decides which data mappings are displayed under “layers” in the maps component and how are they ordered?I have a domain map_entity_type (varchar_max) with elements matching the data mapping I would like to display. Domain map_entity_type They automatically show up in the maps component:Mapsbut the maps component in the GUI seems to ignore the sequence set in this domain and the “Show data mapping” boolean in the maps component doesn’t seem to do anything. Right now, only data mappings I’ve edited (given a different geometric shape or color) are displayed and I can’t get rid of them once they are there. Universal GUIWindows GUI

Merge a branch to another branch

Hi, I would like to merge a branch to another branch. The software factory doesn’t seem to allow this. Selecting the lookup of the trunk and disabling prefilters allows you to select a branch as trunk project but then it won’t allow you to select any target branches anymore.I need some of the developed functions from the other branch but both branches aren’t really ready for merging to the trunk yet. Is it possible to merge the changes of the other branch to my branch without merging those changes to the trunk first?

Map extender universal initial zoom level

Hi, The initial zoom level of the map extender in the universal GUI doesn’t seem to work. I’ve tried several values within the range but it always opens at the same zoom level (which is very zoomed in).Is the initial zoom level parameter not yet implemented or am I missing something?

Process variables values unavailable in first task

Hello,I’ve run into some weird behavior I cannot explain:When starting a process flow from a task, the process variable values don’t appear to be available in the control procedure attached to that first task. It will always be NULL instead of the default assigned to it. The process variable has a default value assigned to it but that value appears to only be set in any procedure/process after the first task. Furthermore, if I set the value of this process variable in the first task and use the multi row task execution, the other instances of the task do not see each other’s value (always null).Some verification I’ve done:The process variable has a default set using the form under process variables (Same behavior for both expression and constant value) The first task has a task parameter with both input and output set to true and no default is assigned there. Start a systemflow through the scheduler & other starting points

Hi!I have a scheduled system flow that I would like to start when a task is executed as well.This is normally not possible because you can’t add ‘Execute task’ to system flows.To circumvent this problem, I could add a second process flow which is started by the task and uses the http connector to make a post request to indicium to start the systemflow. (As described in https://docs.thinkwisesoftware.com/docs/indicium/process_flows.html)This should work fine but has a ‘hacky’ feel to it. Is there a better alternative I’m unaware of?

Add the 'Generated' property for process actions and process variablesClosed

I would like to have the ‘Generated’ property available for process actions and process variables. (Possibly process steps as well since these are dependent on process actions and might cause errors during generation if these aren’t generated as well)I am running into problems with partially generated process flows. A process flow can have the ‘Generated’ property in the SF but individual process actions and process variables cannot. This causes some issues when adding process actions/variables through the dynamic model. To manage these generated process actions and variables, we have to write code to check for them and delete/update them when needed. This is functionality that is available for most other objects in the SF by default.There is also the problem that dynamic model code to manage these object without the ‘Generated’ property can only be executed after the other generated objects are automatically deleted and re-created through the generation process. How exactly is determined which process action step is taken?

Hello there,I’ve been searching through the documentation to find how exactly is determined which process action step is taken in a process flow.A new feature requires me to accurately predict (in a process) which process action is next in the flow. This would be easy if there is only one route to follow but when there are multiple, I need to check the values of the process step parameters.Let’s say there are three routes in a process flow originating from a decision node. To determine which route will be taken we can check variables @thisStep_nextOne, @thisStep_nextTwo, @thisStep_stop.This is how I thought it worked:All routes set to 0 or lower are ignored The route with the lowest number above 0 is selected In case of a tie, the route with the lowest order_no is selectedThis is giving me wrong results so I must be getting these logic rules wrong. Can anyone tell me how exactly this works?

More than just static expected output values at unit testsCompleted

Hi!When unit-testing, for instance default control procedures, I would like to to be able to compare the expected output with something else than a static value. It would be nice to compare the test result with the result of a query or even something like NOT NULL.I need to check if the result of the test matches the current date + 1 month. Since this changes every milisecond I can’t compare this to a static value. It would be great to compare it to:dateadd(month , 1 , getdate()) But comparing it to NOT NULL would help too, since this at least gives some convidence that the code is behaving as expected.As it is, I see no way to create a functional unit test for this default code procedure.
